Giro Grid Spherical Mips Snow Helmet
Whether splitting, ski touring or just taking full advantage of some corduroy, the Giro Grid Spherical Mips snow helmet adds confidence to your powdery turns, without weighing you down on the trip up.
- Easily control your temperature when things heat up with Thermostat Control and Stack Vent technology
- Thermostat Control adjustable venting lets you tune airflow with a simple, low-profile button on the outside of the helmet
- Stack Vent aligns with the center vent of your goggles to keep them fog-free; helmet is designed for seamless compatibility with Giro goggles (not included)
- Mips Spherical® Technology reduces rotational energy during certain impacts for an additional level of confidence—and eliminates the original Mips design's plastic slip plane
- Polartec® Power Grid lining offers exceptional next-to-skin comfort with a bicomponent knit construction that creates 2 surfaces: one moisture wicking, the other quick drying
- The Polartec Power Grid lining also stays fresher for longer, thanks to the incorporation of silver salt (silver chloride), which inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria
- Easily dial in a custom fit—even with gloves on—with the lightweight, low-profile In Form 2 Fit System; improved dial enhances stability and offers up to 6 cm of adjustability
- Pinch-free, one-handed Fidlock® magnetic snap helmet buckle features strong magnets for easy open/close, plus a secure snap functionality to ensure a continuous locking force
- Certification: CE EN1077

Best Comfort & Protection
I was really struggling to find the perfect helmet and had tried on so many. For folks saying the fit is wrong, each brand and style has a different shape. You really need to try them on to find the one that fits your head... Giro helmets all fit me better than any other brand I tried -- more rounded than the rest. If you have problems with pressure points on the sides of your heads, try Giro. I was getting headaches from a borrowed helmet that was pressing on my temples. The matte spruce color is stunning. I received many compliments on my first day wearing it! The one complaint I have about this helmet, and all other Giros I've seen, is that the chin strap is not adjustable enough. No idea what the designer was thinking when they decided to add a line of stitching holding the chin cushioning in place... You need to be able to slide it to the side to shorten the chin strap, which is impossible with this design. For now, I've scrunched up the chin cushioning as much as possible to tighten the strap. If needed, I'll just use a seam ripper on that line of stitching so I can slide it over and tighten more. Fits perfectly with my older Smith goggles. Comfortable and still felt light after a full day on the mountain. Highly recommend.
Great for large head and keep you warm in cold day
Got this as new helmet for my husband who has large head and uneven skull shape in the middle of ski trip. He is very happy about the new helmet which does not hurt his skull anymore. Besides it works very well during 0F and below 0F degree environment to keep head warm. Also the white color one is made with a touch of muted grey which makes the helmet looks elegant. Recommend to anyone who is been struggled of finding a good helmet under the same situation.
Hate helmets but if any, this one
I have ridden 50+ days in the past 2 years without ever wearing a helmet and have head no head injuries. Primarily got it because I was tired of hearing the Karens and felt it wouldn't hurt since I love doing trees and I'm getting into them more advanced. It is comfortable and stylish. I love the matte black and intend to have an acrylic marker image put on there at some point. Great looking helmet.
Fit me great, worked well with Smith goggles
After trying a Smith helmet that didn't fit me well, I tried Giro and it fit great. It even worked great with my Smith goggles (a couple of years old model). Turned out my old helmet was a Giro, which I didn't realize until later, so perhaps their fit is similar over time.
very nice
very confortable ski helmet, nice snug fit and very warm. Ear padding is soft and keeps your ears warm, this helmet is very light and durable. good job giro worth the money.
Broke on first use
The snap on the chin strap broke the first time I put it on my head, before I even hit the slopes.Otherwise seems like a good and comfortable helmet.
Uncomfortable fit causes headaches
I was really stoked to get this and had been eyeing it for a while. At the price point it should be flawless but unfortunately it's not. Overall really disappointed that a $260 MSRP helmet doesn't meet the basic comfort test. Giro really missed the mark on this one IMO. Returned. First the good: This is a top-of-the-line helmet from Giro with MIPS, which helps keep your noggin from rotating too much in a twisting collision. The design looks super cool and the venting system is well designed and the top vent slider to open/close works well. The Grid helmet fit my Giro Contact goggles perfectly with no obvious gap. The Fidlock buckle is neat and seems to work pretty well single handed, although that wasn't really a selling point for me. Giro claims this is a new "spherical" MIPS system, however I'm skeptical it's a real improvement as noted below. Cons: The liner is too bulky and right out of the box, it bunches around the temples. At first I thought that was just from shipping, but when I put it on, I quickly found that underneath those bunchy areas Giro had the brilliant idea of putting small plastic pieces that push right into your temples, which cause immediate discomfort and I had a minor headache within like 30 seconds of wearing this helmet (each time I stubbornly tried it on, thinking it would be different the next time but it wasn't). I tried various configurations with the neck strap, pulling the liner down tighter, and I had my wife try it on to see if I'm crazy but she had the same experience. I even bought a second one just to make sure. This is a design flaw and I strongly recommend against this, at least from a comfort perspective.
