I never thought that a pair of wool socks could actually be tight, but these are. They are extremely tight across the top of the ankle where the ankle and leg meets the foot. They are so tight that it’s painful to wear and I can’t. I purchased some other wool socks from REI and I’m happy to re-purchase those but these are on my do not ever purchase again list. My foot is a women’s size 11 or a 10 1/2 a mens. And yes I bought men’s socks because I wanted real socks not just pretty socks for show.
