Great summer pocket bag

I haven't used this bag on a plane yet, but I bought it because I wanted to keep my pockets light while wearing shorts in the summer. This has just enough room for everything I would normally have in my pockets, plus a pair of sunglasses. Perfect for day trips, and I'm looking forward to using it for my next airport day.

This bag stuck out to me for its great organization, perfect size, sleek design, fit on the hip and uncumbersome but comfortable strap. BUT there’s ONE thing that concerns me now that I brought this home.. the buckle. The mechanism is designed so that you must bring the 2 clasps together to release it, this can be done 1 handed or possibly even by getting snagged in the right direction. It doesn’t feel unsturdy, but having had watches disappear off of my wrist before in a crowd, I would definitely be worried if the right thief knew how to get this off of me, as once u understand the mechanism, its WAY easier to release than a standard buckle. Your only saving grace is hoping the thief can’t recognize the buckle and how to release it. That being said, I don’t know if I would 100% be able to let my anxieties go out on hikes either where steep dropoffs and overlooks are while I have this on, as I’d be worried of the buckle coming undone.

Just Enough room

Well made item from REI line. Rugged outerlayer..2 YKK pull zippers, outside pocket and a carry strap with REI logo. Weather proof. Inside is a great design because it has a couple pockets that are individual and can store small items. A pocket with soft lining for a phone..it holds a iphone 14 perfect. Very tough carry pack but not crazy about the waist strap as it is very thin and skinny, I can adjust for over shoulder or my waist. I do like the magnetic closer. This Travel Organizer is going to be used daily and I believe it will last for many years to come. I have one suggestion...it should come in more colors than just basic black.

Great EDC bag

Just returned from a week long vacation using this instead of carrying everything around in my pockets. Here’s what I had in mine: 3-1/2 X 5 hardback notebook Kobo Clara 2E e-reader and iPhone 13. (I only carried the phone and e-reader on the plane. Otherwise, just the phone) Pack of gum & lip balm Money clip ( 3 1/2 x2 x 3/4) Full length ballpoint pen (there are elastic loops inside for two) Outside pocket will hold a pair of Ray-Ban aviators (without a case while still relatively protected). There is an interior divider with fleece lining that I assume is intended for your sunglasses but used this way the glasses tend to be crushed by the other items in the interior. Even with all theses items it was by no means over stuffed or too heavy. Yes, the strap is narrow as other reviewers have noted but if you don’t overload it with heavy items it’s not noticeable. The bag only weighs 5 ounces empty so the overall weight is really up to what you put in it. I do prefer the aesthetic of the narrower strap compared to the seat belt width fanny packs so common these days. As a fanny pack, the magnetic clasp is handy for quickly removing the bag from around your waist. As a shoulder bag, the strap is just long enough for my 5’-10” frame. Now, the ability to hang from an airplane tray table seems a bit gimmicky and pointless. A full time built in feature that you only use occasionally, if ever, just isn’t needed. Regardless, it doesn’t hurt the functionality but it just seems unnecessary and eliminating it might reduce the cost of the bag a bit. The zippers have very fine teeth and function smoothly. Most bags these days have over sized chain zippers that tend to scratch and snag items going in and out of the bag. This will be my every day carry bag at least for the rest of the summer. Very much preferred over bulging pockets.

Great travel bag!

Love this bag! As a waist pack, great way to conveniently carry trip docs, phone, wallet, etc, without having to dig in my carry-on backpack. Great as a cross-body when walking around town, on a cruise ship or anywhere else. Love the zip front and top pockets, as well as the key clip! Just found the side strap after using almost every day for 10 days. Bravo REI!

Good travel and walking fanny pack

This fanny pack is a little bulky because of the padding, but that also means your phone is well protected. I can fit phone, wallet and keys, and the old fanny pack concept means they're right at hand when I need them.

Great features!

This works great! It holds my large cell phone and has multiple pockets inside and one outside, it can attach to a belt or wear it around middle, the clip holds tight and easy to operate. I like the double zipper to keep both zippers at the top. Someone thought this through when designing it!!!!

Handy and Great for traveling or shopping.

This little guy came in really handy when we were traveling. It held all of my essentials, e.g. passport, wallet, (large) phone and a few other things. It conveniently fit around the tray out of the way. Definitely a Keeper!

Love this little pack

It’s been a great bag within a bag for me, but it’s also so easy to use on its own. I’ve worn it as a fanny pack or over the shoulder easily. The magnetic clasp makes it easy to get on and off.
