Miss plastic bucket containers

I prefer the 5 gallon plastic buckets over the new cardboard box containers as I like to store them in my garage and the plastic keeps the mice out

This is more expensive than buying individually

This is about $12.50 more expensive than buying them individually and you don't get to choose which meals you get. I guess that's because it comes in a bucket? Doesn't even include the biscuits and gravy.

great packaging

purchased to assist with a family reunion gathering held at a state park, due to limited storage and proper food safety, we decided on using larger containers of Mountain House, as a camper and hiker, my husband and I have taken many an individual meal packs on our journeys and have tried others, but Mountain House does not disappoint. The packaging was very good and kept the product from damage, thank you and from the time of purchase to delivery was also very good, thank you for that also. All in all, will be purchasing again from Mountain House and that they are able to maintain the standards that we have come to know. Thank you Mountain House, you have a great team!

Great backpacking food

It is great at the end or beginning of a day in the wilderness when you are hungery. I have been eating Mountain House freeze dried food for many years from Antartica to North Alaska and many places in between and it has always hit the spot.

Big fan of the meals

We do a lot of RVing and always have 6-8 meals with us for those days we are tired or the weather is bad. From our experience we know any meal that takes two cups of water is big enough for two but one that takes a cup and half is just right for one. Haven’t had a bad meal yet. Purchased this bucket for longer term emergency rations. We live in Florida and hurricane season can leave us without power for days. My small hiker stove heats water fast and these meals give us enough nourishment to last until power is restored. Just wish they were not so expensive.

peace of mind

i have plenty of mountain house stored away. i bought the classic assortment for my daughter to give her a little head start. just in case shtf and everything goes wacko. already seeing food prices rocketing skyward. some foods are slow to be restocked. i've tried mountain house before, easy to prepare, taste good, and filling. i'm probably going to get some more. i feel with the way this administration is handling the border and several other issues. our country will see far worse than we are seeing now. better to have than not.

Handy product anytime!

I purchased 1 Classic & 1 Essential buckets from Emergency Essentials when they first came out around 2013. I ordered early in the month to try out the different flavors of MH entrees (first-time to eat MH); ended up ordering 15 buckets each before the end of that month (fantastic sale)! This is a handy product to have around as a prepper, but also as a single person when I just don't feel like cooking dinner after a hard day at work. Also better nutritionally than a so-called "value meal" from fast food restaurant (though the salt content is too high to eat on a daily basis). I gave a few to a disabled friend to try out (he cannot stand up long enough to make entrees like lasagna, etc.), and he ended up ordering quite a few too! I highly recommend MH products.

Really Long Term Consumer

I have been eating Mountain House product since the 1980s when I went on active duty. Had the pleasure of finding the last real live Long Range Recon Patrol Rations (LURPS in the vernacular) at Fort Irwin, and lots of number 10 can product consumed during REFORGER 80. Have continued using it all since then, and regularly freshen my supply of buckets, kits and individual package supply. And I have gifted various kits and assortments to friends and family. Always carry a few days worth to Burning Man and other camping events. Far out in front of the competitors IMO. Only one request. Bring back Beef and Rice. Please. Pinch of pepper and a squirt of yellow mustard (couple of squeeze packs from your local fast food restaurant) and you have a meal fit for a king! (smile)
