Purpose-built but works for every day wear

Wanted something a little more weatherproof than my hoodie but less bulky than my 3-in-1 jacket and stumbled onto this perfect solution. While it does have specific design details suited to climbing (namely harness-accommodating features like high set pockets and stretchy breathable lower panels) but they are implemented in such a way that, unlike some "technical" jackets, they aren't prohibitive or odd for everyday wear. In fact, the slimmer fit and relatively (seemingly very slightly) longer arms make the fit ideal for me. And I've still been able to wear merino wool base and mid layers with no problem and avoid the bulk of a heavier shells while staying warm while active during gusting winter winds (>25°F/-4°C). Unsurprisingly it's probably not great for downpours or spring skiing/boarding, but has been fine in light rain and snow.

Doesn’t pack into its pocket!

First off, I love a lot about this thing. I don’t know if it’s the active insulation or that 40units isn’t much, but this is the only jacket I can actually keep on during any activity. Skiing, climbing, hiking, the insulation combination is great. My main issues with it? IT DOESNT PACK INTO A POCKET! Called to ask and was told the regular non climbing version does but the climbing version doesn’t. Utterly ridiculous design. Climbers are the most frequent people I know who fold their jacket into a pocket in order o clip it . How could you get rid of such a standard feature for a climber specific jacket?! I would probably recommend to everyone otherwise l

Good jacket missing the chest pocket

This feels like it's going to be a really great jacket it's warm and the wind doesn't blow right through it things I wish It had: pit zips, and the zippered chest pocket that it says it has on the website and on the tag but obviously doesn't.

40g primaloft is insufficient insulation

The build of the jacket is lovely. ykk vislon zips, clearly durable ripstop nylon, I haven't owned the jacket long enough to comment on the stitch quality, will update if they fail. So, why a 1 star review for a jacket built so well? Unfortunately, it's tough to even call this a jacket. 40g primaloft offers no warmth. This isn't even suitable as a cold spring jacket. The point to which this jacket would be comfortable would be the point you consider skipping a jacket all together. The only purpose this thing serves is to prevent your clothing from getting scuffed when you're climbing.

Geared for the alpine

I love the warmth, breathability and relative weatherproofness of all the Kor line. It's become my go-to active layer for winter climbing and skiing, as well as for cold days rock climbing. An update to the Kor Climb I really enjoy is the long sash along the waist. This thing is longer than my other Kor jackets. It fits perfectly under my harness without any cords to get wrapped up in my gear. For ice or alpine climbing and ski touring, I tuck the jacket into my pants which creates a snow-proof seal. (Was I the only one getting snow down my back everytime I bend over to get something out of the pack?) A stellar update to the Kor and a must-have for any cold-weather enthusiast. Well done!

Perfect shoulder season climbing jacket

I own a lot of jackets for climbing and face a constant Goldilocks problem regarding warmth: some jackets are too warm, some not warm enough. The Kor Strata Climb jacket is the first jacket that feels “just right.” It keeps wind out and has just enough insulation, but breathes super well. The harness friendly fit and pockets is a nice touch as well. The hood is warm, but not sure if it is meant to fit inside or outside a helmet, but I haven’t tried wearing it with a helmet. My only complaint is that it is a bit too roomy in the torso for a mid layer. If worn under a belay parka, it feels a bit bunchy. But a pretty minor problem to have. MHW hit as close to a home run as one can get with this jacket.

Perfect all year round jacket!

This jacket is the perfect around town or on the trail jacket. It is warm enough to pair with a heavier puffy for winter weather. In addition, the raised pockets make it ideal for any backpacker or climber. All around it was the exact jacket I was looking for.

Amazing active jacket

Incredible light weight jacket that has all the features you’d like for active use. The stretch in the shoulders is nice when rock/ice climbing and the warmth is spot on with out being too much or little. The design really accounts for being able to wear a harness with it. If you climb and are looking for a jacket or mid layer this should be in your gear bag. Definitely satisfied with this product and would recommend to anyone.

Awesome jacket!

This jacket is very warm for it’s weight. I am pleased with the fit and feel overall. I’m 5’8” and 180 pounds with an athletic build, and the Large fits very well. I would use it for moderately intense activities in freezing temps or windy conditions. I feel like it would be too hot for mountain running, but I would use it for climbing. The DWR works well and sheds light rain when you shake it out, leaving the jacket dry.

Awesome Jacket!

Great jacket! I am so happy and impressed with this jacket. It's super lightweight yet warm and fairly windproof. It fits great. I'm 6' and about 210 lbs and it has a nice fitted fit which I was looking for. I really like the high pockets. It was designed for climbing but would work great for cycling or even long distance running if you were wearing a running belt/pack. Couldn't be happier.
