[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket before heading out on a couple of January trips to New England and Colorado with lots of snowy skiing and hiking on the agenda! I loved the functionality of both of the components of this jacket! The insulated layer was warm and I particularly loved that it was synthetic and I didn't have to worry about it getting wet. The outer layer was great for adding warmth against wind and keeping me dry in snowy conditions. I'm 5'8" 135lbs and a small fit perfectly, with room for a fleece underneath. I loved the color of the outer jacket and the combination of the two pieces together, but do wish the insulated layer were a bit more muted in color.
I love everything about this jacket EXCEPT that the armholes are very tight. I am pretty thin--5'7", 135 lbs, wearing a thin sweater when I tried it on. This is not what I expected from a Medium. I am very sorry to have to return it, but I know it would bother me every time I wore it.
I bought this jacket in hopes it would replace the one I lost. Alas, I'm returning it. I am typically a size 8 or 10 in clothing. Jackets I go for a bit larger to be able to layer. I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs, with my hips being 44 inches around. This jacket fits fine when standing and not moving. But sitting down, it's too small over the hips and crawls up which isn't practically or comfortable. So overall, small in the hips and roomy in the shoulders, more of a fit for a man. It's a pretty thin feeling jacket. Didn't feel bulky enough to keep me warm, and the outer layer felt very plasticky. Putting the hood on, the zippers connecting the inner liner jacket touch the cheeks and are not well hidden under the triangle felt fabric intending to protect it from touch. So it's cold on the cheek and scratchy. Not a good design. There's no inner pocket on the liner jacket, which my old one had and I loved that. Overall, this jacket didn't meet my expectations although the outer color purple was pretty nice.
Product is darker than picture shows, more of a mauve than dusty rose, and is quite light weight. I used it for skiing in Vermont with another winter jacket underneath and was quite warm and well protected from the wind. May be ok for skiing in warmer temps with a couple base layers, but I wouldn’t recommend it for under 20 degrees or low impact activities.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hands down the best jacket I have ever owned. I like to hike in all seasons. This jacket keeps me warm in the winter, blocks the wind and the rain in the spring and summer, and goes well with all my favorite fall accessories. Absolutely fell in love with Marmot after this purchase. Will only be purchasing jackets from you from now on.
This jacket fit well, but is a poor choice for hiking. There are no vents anywhere on it, so it ends up being a portable sauna when walking. It was a quick decision to return it!
I love the color and the quality of this jacket although the fit is a little tight around the arms and the bottom of the jacket. I am 5’4” 120 lbs and usually a large is roomy so I can layer underneath but I cannot so much with this. It may not be warm enough in the snow unless you stay active.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can express enough how much I love this jacket! Particularly because of how well it fits me. I'm very petite....5 feet tall and just over 100 lbs and have an extremely difficult time finding gear that fits properly. This jacket is EVERYTHING. The sleeves are the perfect length, the bottom hem hits my hips at exactly the right spot, it's fitted perfectly and not baggy or boxy in my midsection. I LOVE this jacket and thank you for making outdoor clothing and gear for us little ladies!
I wanted to love this jacket. It looks great, water beautifully beads and rolls off of the waterproof outer shell, and the inside jacket looks nice alone. However, the armpits (arm holes?) were veryyy tight despite the fact that I have relatively thin arms (typically wear size Small) and I was wearing only a thin shirt underneath. I could not have comfortably worn this for very long. Of course I could size up, but everywhere else fit perfectly and would have been too big as a Medium.
Great jacket! It keeps me warm and dry which was exactly what I was looking for. I am outdoors with my students in every weather condition and this jacket is perfect. I wear a lighter fleece lining on the colder days and I don't have any problems with my under arms being tight. My only complaint is the zipper has come undone on the bottom of the jacket a few times. It's not terrible but I do worry if it keeps happening that something could be wrong with the zipper.
