Super Comfortable
My husband has a new mountain bike. We have been going out on the trails in Western Michigan often this summer. These are his new go-to liners. He plans on ordering another pair as they "don't feel like a diaper".

Improper chamois placement. Comfortable.
The chamois pad is sewn in too far back! The padded part of the chamois is shaped like a saddle, with two circles where the sit bones should go. Unfortunately, the circle shaped areas are 3-ish inches away from the sit bones. Runs slightly small. I measure for the upper range of the Large liner shorts, but it fits slightly too small. If I measured in the middle of the Lg range I bet they'd fit nicely. I'll try an XL and hopefully the misplacement of the chamois is a fluke. By the sound of other reviews, it's more common than it should be.

sizing info

By the measuring tape, I am a 36 inch waist and 21 inches in the thigh where the leg band sits. I ordered a large and they just fit with no compression. If the elastic stretches at all they will likely be a little too loose. They don't ride up and the pad stays in place throughout the ride. No binding or tightness. The next pair I order will likely be a medium so I get a little compression out of them.

Beware!

These are well made shorts and would work great for touring, but they have a major flaw; the chamois is misplaced! I read the reviews before I purchased these and noted that a couple of buyers complained about the chamois/pad placement. I thought that they were a bunch of sissies, but it turns out that they were right. I compared these shorts with a random pair of Sugoi cycling shorts. The pad on the Sugoi shorts starts approximately 7" from the waistband. The pad on these shorts starts between 4 and 5 inches from the waistband. This leaves the majority of the padding on my lower back. There is little (if any) padding where it should be. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to return these, as they're little better than a pair of nylon underwear. I should also note that I'm old school with regard to the padding on cycling shorts. I don't believe that it's really meant to provide padding, but primarily to absorb sweat. These won't do that because there's so little padding where it needs to be.

Design problems

Two issues with these, as other reviewers have mentioned: One, the leg cuffs are too tight. I have average sized quads and the cuffs we annoyingly tight. They don't have leg grippers so perhaps they made the cuffs extra tight to compensate. Two, the chamois is placed too far back. It covers the tailbone area and leaves the sit bones without padding.

Zoic liner

Great shorts. Well padded. Well constructed. I expect to get years of use out of these as I did with my prior pair

Very comfortable.

These shorts are extremely comfortable and I regularly ride 2-4 hours. I’m a 38” waist and originally purchased the XL, which were flush but not tight. The pad droops like a diaper. Bought the Large and fits perfectly! The fly is delightfully convenient. Will be getting a third pair.

Excellent Liner for knowledgable riders

These are outstanding Italian made liners. They fit very well and the chamois is in the exact right place. People that say it is too far back either got the wrong size, wrote the review before before riding, or are not experienced. These shorts are not just a giant sofa cushion for the uninitiated. They are probably best targeted to experienced riders that understand what a chamois does. The pad is thin and unobtrusive. It is important to not get a larger size than you need, as that could move the pad further back. Extremely happy with them.

Defective Design or Manufacturing!

Everything about this short is great except for one big flaw: the chamois was installed at least 2-3" too far back such that my sit bones end up in front of the padded area. Deal breaker!

"Great" lumbar protection

I bought hoping the padding would be slightly further back than my first chamois because I often find myself trying to wedgie the first pair rearwards... Well these are definitely further back... so far back I cant see how anyone could possibly enjoy these. Seriously, unless you're riding a recumbent with a standard bike saddle, do not get these. If by chance you are riding such a bike, the medium was sized perfectly for me.
