Pretty standard, insulated and fit well. My brother was hoping it was a little softer though.
I bought two pair of these a few months back and now bought 3 more pair just in last week. I LOVE these socks specifically for work. They have a lot of cushion for the physical demands of my job, I am on my feet most of the time. I wear Ankle Foot Orthotics (AFOs) and these socks actually go over my calves which is difficult to find socks these days that do that (I have resorted to normally buying soccer socks in the past, but that has changed! I am a female with a women’s size 9 = men’s 7, they fit great and are not constricting around my legs. I would not classify these for hiking, but I might use them for that.
I have bought other Darn Tough OTC socks before, these are truly OTC!! These are not as tight fitting as others and actually fit OTC. These are thick and cushioned in the right places! My new favorite socks and I just bought a second pair during the recent sale. I’m female with size 9 wide women’s sized feet, I chose medium size and they’re perfect for me. I think that equates to a men’s size 7. Other DT socks have never gone OTC for me, even though they were labeled OTC.
They keep feet dry while keeping a tough hold above the calf, and yet at the same time not squeezing the toes.
They are the best darn socks for boots because they never slip down and keep feet dry.
I’ve been purchasing these for a couple of years. I’ve returned every pair under warranty and they’ve been replaced. Initially comfortable and stretchy. Every one has torn. Great that they replace them. But you have to pay for shipping. Now I wait until several are torn to save on shipping but I don’t think they should have a 100% fail rate.
Excellent material and provides cushion and support on long hikes. Notably after numerous miles I had zero issues and relatively zero soreness in feet/ankles.
Great socks, good fit, and are durable so far.
Good socks. Warm and comfy. I chose to buy more of the moutaineering socks because I subjectively thought they had more cushion.
