Nice lever for cramped bars
Easy to install and adjust and works as advertised. Great for an installation without a lot of free real estate on the bars.

Defective Design
The guide component is designed with very thin metal and can not keep the cable from sliding of the guide resulting in loss of cable tension.

Use this only if no alternative works

Use this only if it is impossible to use the proper "1X" lever for your dropper post. It barely works. I spent the last 1.5 hours installing it and have rather low confidence that it will last more than a week or two. I don't know if there are any "2X" dropper levers any better, and I can't fault REI for offering this, but be forewarned. Do not get this to save some change. Prepare to apply the lever slowly, carefully and as infrequently as possible. I got this just to lower a saddle for getting on and off a bike due to a hip range of motion issue. No self-respecting enduro bro should even consider it.

Worst product I’ve ever bought

I initially bought bought this and the PNW dropper post. Install was a pain but once I got it figured out it was working. First time I took it out both the dropper post and lever broke. Wow. I was able to limp back to my car with my stuck post, get all the parts off and return them for new one. I thought “ hey you know these things happen” however, second go around the cable for the lever began to shred(see picture attached.” This is such a disgustingly bad product that I wouldn’t even have my worst enemy buy this. It’s amazing that PNW even puts these out with how atrocious the quality of this is. Thank god for Reis return policy! I will never buy a PNW product again, and discourage anyone, regardless of the their riding experience, to buy anything from PNW. Shame on you PNW.

Easy to Install and Works Great!

I recommend the PNW Puget 2x lever. I purchased this lever with the PNW Cascade dropper post with external cable routing. This Puget 2x dropper post lever is perfect to install on a crowded handlebar. I have gear shifters including brake levers on both sides of my handlebar, so installing a horizontal style dropper post lever wasn't an option. This lever's orientation is compact enough to install immediately next to my gear shifter. The only thing about the PNW lever and drooper post is that the instructions are not included inside the box to save on paper. You either have to scan the includes QR code or look up the installation on YouTube (by the way, there's an excellent PNW video on the installation on YouTube).

does the job

Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. Instructions were straightforward making Installation quick and easy. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and have no complaints.

Works for the price

It works and was the cheapest option. It's a little fidgety to get it all set properly. Slack/tension has to be correct so the wire doesn't come off the wire guide - doesn't affect function but it's a little annoying.

Impressed

This dropper remote actually exceeded my expectations. The construction is sturdier than it appears in the photo. It does use a cam mechanism that is stamped out of a piece of aluminum, but so do other remotes that I've had. The operation is quite smooth once it's installed. It does use a grub screw to hold the cable, so you have to take care that it doesn't slip out and roll away while you're installing it. The noodle has a barrel adjuster that works well for adding tension to the cable, but it does not have a locking nut on it, which means that it needs to be adjusted after most every ride. Not a big deal, considering this remote is less than half the price of some on the market. It comes with a cable and housing, so you don't have to re-use the old one. The cable housing ends say "Jagwire" on them, so maybe the entire cable is made by them. I positioned mine right next to the grip and it works well there.

Flimsy and awkward

The packaging did not include installation instructions and the parts felt like they were just shoved in there. The collar around the bars limits which angle the lever can be placed at, because it bumps into the brake reservoir. The lever itself has lateral play and feels unreliable. Only useful if replacing a broken lever on the cheap

Missing Parts

Lever came without the housing ends. I reached out to PNW directly and they express shipped a new cable kit. I've had so many problems with REI, I decided to skip contacting them to fix this problem. Once I received the replacement kit I was able to set this lever up with the PNW Cascade dropper and it works great! I would definitely recommend this low cost 2X lever as an entry level solution!
