Material is melting/degrading and sticking to hand
The grip started to melt and leave a residue on my hands. Dirt stuck to the residue and made a gooey-black crud that gets on your hands when riding and is hard to wipe off. Also not very much cushion.
These work and look great!
I put these on my stock Spank handlebars on my Transition PBJ when riding the local pumptrack. The grip patterns work well with and without gloves.
Nice grips, but not as "cushy" as I would like.
I like this style of handlebar grip with an integrated end cap and a set screw to hold it in place. The textured surface with ridges is "grippy" and easy to hold on to. Based on those features alone, I would have rated these PNW grips 4/5. However, these grips are a bit less cushy than the older ones I removed, which were a thicker foam-type grip. I prefer a bit more cushion and rated the PNW grips a 3/5 for that reason. Others might not want or need more cushion and would find these to be very good.
Pretty happy with these grips : ]
Finally got around to replacing the original factory grips on my 12 year old bike. Decided to go with these and have been happy with them since. Installation was super easy and honestly they look good on the bike. I typically will wear gloves when riding on trails, but for casual riding I will often skip the gloves and these grips are plenty comfy. My hands to tend to sweat a bit more than I'd like when doing most activities and have never really had issues losing my grip on these. Funnily enough, when I took my bike in to have tuned up the mechanic asked me how I liked them because he was looking at getting a set for himself.
Good Grips
Easy to install, nice and grippy! If you don't wear gloves they may be a little thin and rigid. They look great too!
Color and Integrated Bar End = Nice, No Durability
Ribs on the inside of the grip were completely separated from the grip after just a handful of rides. The integrated bar end makes things easy and the color options are always nice. Lock-on so install is super easy. Price is nice and competitive, but only lasting a few rides let alone a full season is a big no from me for ever purchasing again.
Fantastic Grip in All Conditions
I rolled the dice on these things since I couldn't but my hands on them in store and I am glad that I did. They proved their value on the first ride. It was a bit humid and rained off and on. I deal with an above-average amount of sweat on my hands and even with that amount of moisture, these grips never felt even remotely slippery. It was an incredibly enjoyable ride.
Amazing MTB grips
I’ve tried lots of different types of grips over the past 20 years (DMR Death Grips were my latest) and the bottom line is this… These things are amazing! PNW Loams have the perfect amount of tackiness both with and without gloves, perfect type of material (not too hard, not to soft), and they last. Oh, and they’re cheap at $20 a pop. Definitely recommend ‘em!
comfortable and tacky
Great grip just like everything else they make. Comfortable on the hands
Good but be prepared to fine-tune rotation.
Grippy in all conditions, the top of the grips where the chevron pattern is can get slippery with sweat - consider rotating the grips to find the optimal position for you, as PNW's recommended rotation could be problematic if your hands are sweaty.
