The weirdest waist band…
So wanted to love them. The color is beautiful and the material is so light and perfect for hot weather activities near water. BUT they fit so oddly. To the point I wonder if they were defective. I got a small and an extra small, but even with the XS, they were gaping around my waist. The elastic was not elasticky, and even with cinching the tie, the band above it bloomed out all around my waist. I tried pulling them lower on my waist but it didn’t help. Wish I could add a photo for visual. Sadly returning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the lightweight material but the fit is a little weird at the waist. It feels like it is floating out there and you need to really tie it to secure it, but that’s annoying because you have to untie to get it off. Like the color, length, and weight though.
Fantastic versatile swimsuit
I really appreciate this design. I have a long narrow torso and it has always been difficult finding a proper fitting swimsuit especially one that meets my athletic needs. The top and bottom fit great. No blisters while wearing a pfd and paddling. I even wear it on trail runs when a swim is planned. The top offers me sufficient support to replace my sports bra. In addition, the suit also looks great. It is fun to have sports gear that is both practical and stylish. Furthermore I love that Carve has made efforts to reduce the environmental impact (ex: using recycled polyester in production).

This is my 3rd pair!
These shorts are very comfortable ,yet look a little neater than running shorts. I’ve worn them hiking and they worked great.
Super wonky waistband
The waistband on these shorts is so strange. It is all stretched out at the top of the waistband but the lower portion of the waistband is tight. Not sure if it’s a bad design or if it was a defect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit was good, but I’m a bit put off by the material. I was not expecting the material to be so thin, and it is nearly see through. I got the navy stripe. It reminds me of a recycled nylon reusable bag I have, which that has not held up well… so I am a bit concerned that these shorts will hold up similarly. Would never had paid full price for these in a store. I got them on final sale. So they will go in rotation and we will see how they hold up.
Snap on back pocket….scratches bare skin
Hello. I have 3 pairs from 2022 and 1 new pair from 2024. The 2024 pair; on the back pocket there is a metal rivet style snap and it is very very sharp. I have been trying to ignore it but it is scratching my skin, my swim suit, and if I wear them as shorts, underwear is caught by metal. Something maybe changed? Maybe a supplier change. I do love these shorts. Just wish there was a better quality test to check for metal and snags. Thank you.
Wonderful except the scratchy waist band.
There is a lot that I love about these shorts. I love the soft, light weight, stretchy fabric. I love that it has pockets! I like that I can wear them to the beach or out walking. I like that I can tighten the waist with the drawstring. The only negative feature is the waistband is a bit scratchy, thus why I gave these 4 instead of 5 stars. It wasn't so bothersome that I can't wear them, just a design feature that needs to be improved.
Please make a high-wasted version!
I LOVE these shorts, I bought two pairs. I love how light the material is. While I think they probably look marvelous on women with athletic or slender bodies, I'd really love to see a high-wasted version for us curvy girls. Don't get me wrong, you will NOT get a muffin top from these shorts, however, I still feel a high-waisted version with more fabric gathered at the waist would be a home run for every. woman. ever.
