This shoe is an excellent choice for those looking for comfort on vertical and slab terrain. I got them in my street size, and they fit very comfortably but the heel is a bit loose due to the lack of closure system. These shoes are great for slab and vertical climbing. The rubber is on the softer side and very sticky, with a relatively thick sole that will give them a long life. These are my go to warm up shoes, and my first choice if I am trying slab of any difficulty or even vertical climbing that doesn't require heel or toe hooking. If you are looking for a slightly more performance fit, I'd go down a half size from street shoes.
I got these thinking they'd just be a chill gym shoe- they've turned into my go to outdoor shoe and they haven't let me down on any edge or smear yet. I've worn these on several long outdoor sport multipitch routes and although I do need to take them off occasionally for belays, so did my friend with his [very famous double priced shoe]. I really like the heel tension although that's the part making me want to get my feet a rest. I've only done a few jams but they did fine. I do kind of wish I got 1/2 size up to wear more comfy with socks. I wouldn't say these stretched a lot but they noticeably became more comfy by the end of the first multipitch day. Don't stop making these! I promote these hard!
I bought this shoe 2 weeks ago , the first time I wore it the leather strip that you use to pull it on after you slip your fit in snapped (I was not using much pressure). the next week I went to do some bouldering and found that there was 2 finger sized holes near the pinky toe side of the foot about 2 inches above my toes even though I have not jammed with this shoe once. I found the heel to fit very bad there was an inch of room under my heel when climbing. It's a decent shoe but make sure you try it on and watch out for the quality of the leather. I would give more stars if I did not have leather issues.
I looked into buying mocs for a while, and decided on these after seeing bad reviews on the anasazi mocs. I bought these in the same size as my street shoes. They fit amazingly right off the batt. Comfort for all day and they feel good and snug. I have never been so happy with a pair of climbing shoes right out of the box. I will update this if I see any issues down the road.
Bought 1 US size below street shoe. Toes are curled a bit but very comfy compared to more "performance" oriented shoes. Should stretch a decent amount but I would still be happy with the size if they don't, though I might not be able to comfortably wear them all day. Wide toe box that fits me way better than moccs, which felt like they were crushing my little toe.
These were my first climbing shoes, and I wore them for almost 6 months going to the gym 3 times a week. They have a medium-soft level of stiffness, giving them pretty solid edging and good smearing. Others have complained about the rubber, but I don't remember feeling that way when I was wearing mine. They are incredibly comfortable, and I feel like I could wear mine all day. The leather stretches to give a very glove like fit. That said, they do stretch quite a bit. I bought mine in my street shoe size, 13, and while they fit well enough at first, they stretched to the point where my feet started to slip in them, which was the point when I moved on to something else, though they still have a lot of rubber left. All of the shoes I've worn since haven't lasted nearly as long. I just would probably want to size down to a 12 or 12.5. Evolv may say that your street shoe size for maximum performance, but at least for these, that doesn't seem to have been correct.
This slipper performs well for most climbing. The edging is great when shoes are new & the actual amount of rubber on soles seems to be at least 2x that of many other shoes (last twice as long). Shoe molds to foot (leather) & nice heel design keeps this slipper snug.
Just purchased my 4th pair of these. My go to shoe for the gym sport climbing and bouldering, multi-pitch trad, and moderate sport climbing. I have a few pairs of La Sportiva TC Pros and Miuras that I haven't touched since getting my first pair of Raves. They feel really secure for moccasins and I rarely feel like my heel is loose or liable to slip out - even with heel hooking. They're so comfortable I often just leave them on for my whole session, but I don't feel like I'm sacrificing performance for comfort at all... amazing! My street shoe is a 9 and I wear an 8.5 for this shoe.
Really great shoe if you get the sizing right. I wear a US men’s size 9 for my street shoe, I went down a half size for these and they fit like a glove. Bought them as a gym shoe because I was tired of tearing up my solutions during extended indoor sessions and they performed great. Heel hooks were surprisingly secure for a slip on, felt just as if not better than my solutions. Edging and smearing felt good on slab and slightly overhung routes, however the performance fell off as the routes became steeper than 35 degrees. But what more can you expect from a moderate slip on? Overall amazing shoe for what it is no reason to give anything but 5 stars. Dye does bleed on first few wears, turned my feet yellow lol.
I must have gotten a bad pair because these performed worse than tennis shoes. Edging was mediocre and smearing was an absolute nightmare - foot constantly just slipped right down the wall. Heel would slide right off holds. I could feel the middle of the shoe slide on a jug, it was terrible. Really hope I just got a bad pair or something, but yeah. Returned after giving them a good two days try.
