Definite upgrade
Very good fit, much better the original. Does not come with new lid, I actually needed a new lid but no problem. If your clever a new lid is easily acquired.
Coffee time
Makes very good coffee.. we use it a lot for hiking in the mountains
I need a new bottom stem?
First trip out I lost the bottom stem. My lid popped off my pack, probably while ducking under trees. I was so excited to try it out on the trail. Bummer 😩 no coffee. Secure your lid folks
Enjoying this kit
I use it with the Jetboil MicroMo but it also works perfectly with the Toaks 750mL mug if you want a lighter set up.
great cup of coffee
I was a little hesitant to purchase this because I wasn't sure if it would actually work grind-free. I was shocked at the cup of coffee I made. I thought I might have to grind my own beans a little more course in order to keep grounds out, but I tested with a fine ground and it worked perfect. The design is really smart, as well. I I love that it breaks down into something that fits right in pocket an turns my jet boil into a great coffee maker. The only con would be the cleanup- which would be the same with any press. It will use quite a bit of water to clean up the jet boil cup and the press mesh. If you are rationing water, not sure how well this would serve as a dual cook system and coffee maker. Since my hiking partner also has a jet boil, I think we will use one just for coffee and the other just for boiling water so we don't have to worry about keeping it clean enough to also use as a cooking system. Since I can't live a morning without coffee, it is well worth it to me.
Bad dishwasher
Works better than the one i lost. If you find the one i lost at colorado national monument you can have it ,i have a new one.
OMG best coffee ever
It did the trick. IPad the jetboil French Press over 10 years the coffee sucked. It was because of the grounds that slid past the lack of a seal. Putting a smooth soft toe ring around the plunger fix this. But you will still get a little bit of sediment past the O-ring which is natural. So I use a little Melita coffee cup top in a filter and I poured my coffee through that to clear it even more. OMG best coffee ever.
Great cup of coffee!
Took this into the bush on an Alaskan Caribou bow hunt. What a wonderful thing to have a hot cup of delicious coffee before we broke camp each day! Worth every penny!
Such a great little press.
I loved having this on my recent three week backpacking trip. It was my second luxury item. I love it. Got made fun of for having it but dang, a good cup of coffee in the morning just starts the day out great. It’s small, light weight and easily packable.
No Grounds!
Perfect fit for my Jetboil! The one thing I cannot do without in the wilderness is my morning coffee. This silicone press fits perfectly and keeps the grounds where they are supposed to be. Much better press that the original one that came with my Jetboil.
