I finally had the opportunity to use this backpack on three different hikes. It performed just as I had hoped. One of the great features, while it might not seem like much, is that the zippers are really good! they open and close with little effort, even around the curved portions. Also, I had no issues with shoulder pain or the straps digging in anywhere. While it's a simple backpack, it's a keeper!
This pack would be better if it didn't flop around like a dead fish. A little stiffness/structure would have been better. As it is, I have to wrestle with it when putting stuff in and taking stuff out. Also, the shoulder straps are spaced a bit too wide. I shouldn't have to fasten the sternum strap just to walk from my car to the office. I've worn daypacks for decades. I'm sorry, this one only rates 3/5.
I selected this pack for travel and it served very well for several years before falling apart. It was large enough to hold laptop and tablet and various clothing; the outside compartment has an inner zipped pocket for holding valuables, keys, passport. The pack fits under airline seats. It does not stand up on its own very well. The biggest problem are the zippers. When new, the zipper for the main compartment would fly upon when I slung the pack on my shoulder, in a few cases resulting in its contents flying across the floor in the airport. I fixed this with small carabiners. The zipper fabric tape just delaminated. Not fixable. A fine bag now worthless for want of a tougher construction.
The pack is great and roomy when it's zipped up and being worn. I liked the double handles at the top. Fairly comfortable to wear. But the smaller pocket has no structure; it flops open and dumps all your stuff on the floor every time you unzip it.
Weekday use for school and stuffing meal preps. Swapped out my old bag of 5 years of use and after a week of rain with a weekend of use its still very durable from its packaging. I would recommend this for anyone needing a useful all-round backpack.
This was a bday gift for my husband. His old backpack was from the Sierra Club and used it for school books and papers. It just fell apart one day and while was out shopping with our granddaughter we found this versatile backpack. He loved it. Nivea and sturdy with lots of pockets for all of his school supplies. It is padded enough to tote around a laptop too. The outside has this adjustable mesh that you can hold a jacket in and carry the whole thing on your shoulders.
Great day pack. Love the extra deep pockets for water bottles. Nice size over all. Like everything about it.
Used this backpack for the first time while traveling for 3 weeks. The main compartment is much bigger than I expected so it holds a lot-a pair of shoes, a sweater, rain jacket, chargers, sunglasses and a medium size crossbody bag. There is one front pocket which I like because it keeps things simple. The elastic cords on the front are nice for convenient access to a jacket. It’s a streamlined design without a lot of straps hanging from it.
This order taught me that packs are best bought in store. The top strap anchors were attached to the pack so close together that no amount of length adjustment allowed me to avoid chafing at the sides of my neck. I returned it unused with no problem.
It’s a nice looking pack, and front pocket is a nice feature, but the laptop sleeve is super small and tight — doesn’t come close to fitting my daughter’s 15” laptop. It’s not very roomy either, so wouldn’t work for my kid. Have to send it back.
