Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Item arrived discolored. Took it out of the package to find this.
This ticked so many boxes in what I wanted in a vest: it was nice and warm, fit well over layers or under a jacket, lightweight, used recycled and bluesign materials, fair trade sewn, affordable. But the stitching seems suspect in the durability department, and it leaked feathers very badly. I’m aware that new down products can shed a few feathers, but I would find them all over my clothes, and all over my house, well after the breaking in period. Ultimately I returned it and decided to see if a Patagonia Down Sweater Vest would be a better investment.
for a vest like this. i had given up but i saw this on display. not too thick and bulky, fits perfectly and a nice look for a night out. BUT most importantly they did something i’ve been hoping for but never thought i would see from any brand: they didn’t stamp their name on it. no bright orange rei across the front. just a nice clean warm black vest. the hunt is over. thank you rei.
I bought this for a trip to Israel in February 2022. I knew the weather was going to be cool with a few days of rain predicted. I wanted a little something to wear under a shell jacket and I am really glad I chose this vest. It is lightweight and warm, very packable, multiple pockets, and reasonably priced. I bought the black with olive green interior and it looks sharp. I either wore it every day or had it in my day pack for weather changes. We had rain, wind, cold (at least for the Middle East - 45 degrees F) and it was perfect. Eventually this vest will go backpacking but I seem to wear it a lot around the house or just going for long walks in the neighborhood. Excellent value and highly recommended.
Extremely light weight & comfortable, but oh so warm. A warmly received gift. The recipient loved it!
I wear this thing all the time. It knocks the chill out in the mornings and at work. Fit is good, not to tight or loose, zippered pockets are spacious. Packs down real small. Very light. The vest works good as last layer, I adjust my inner layers accordingly. Blocks wind good. This is the 2.0 model which has much improved over first generation. R.E.I. Inside person was very informative in my decision on choosing this one, over more expensive ones I was thinking about. Thanks for your help, and saving me money also!
So far this is warm. It is great for the inbetween weather of spring in Maine. My only complaint is it leaks feathers like crazy, it came like that and still used. I know a little leaking is normal, but feathers are loose in like over 20 spots.
It's ok. It could have been great, but in typical REI fashion, they skipped out on one or two major features. It's missing two things: A cinch at the waist to keep out drafts and a chest pocket. As for fit, it runs large (boxy - not athletic fit). Size down for a better fit. It's warm enough and it features things you would expect in this price range: larger zipper, chin protector flap, zipper hand warmer pockets, and two interior drop pockets. As it's now discontinued, I hope REI doesn't drop the ball on the next iteration.
First, I knew this was a good vest 'cause my sibling's worn the original one on a regular basis, in many weather conditions, for years. Come out with this? $80's steep, right? Pick it up on a promotion and it is well worth the price. Nothing warmer, lighter, and more comfortable. It fits well, it packs down small, and it adds a good layer to whatever's underneath it. Hey, evening hikes. Morning cooking. And it's water resistant? What?
Nice vest, but too thin for me. Between my fingers it was difficult to tell if there was down fill between the layers. I think a fleece would be as warm or warmer. Would be good for someone looking for a very light layer of insulation, but I was looking for something warmer.
