Running smaller than previous seasons?
I have purchased several Carve Designs Women's Dylan Gauze shirts over the past seasons. All my tops are size small. They are slightly loose and float over over my body but do not look overall too big. Some of the prints are more sheer than others and may require a camisole underneath depending on your comfort level. The cloud wildflower print I just purchased seems to be running small or they have changed the sizing of the garment. It is too tight across my bust and around to my back. Sleeves seemed a bit shorter too. I will exchange for a size medium. This is the only Carve Dylan Gauze I purchased this season. For reference I'm 5'4" 132 pounds 32DD bust.
perfect Tropical weight
I bought this shirt before a September trip that jumped from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles to Seattle to Tahiti to the Florida Keys and it was a winner in all locations. Strategic pockets meant i could forego a bra where it was very hot, roll the sleeves down for cooler nights, wash and dry overnight. The subtle navy stripe goes with everything. My body shape, while slender, is thick through the middle and this shirt does not bind or cling.
Great shirt!
Got the navy poppy in XL. It is a great shirt and not see through. The shoulders are a little bit broad, which you can kind of see in the photo that the seams are a little bit beyond a straight line of where your shoulder actually is, extending over to your arm, so not sure about that. I love the shirt and ordered several more but sized down and hopefully the seam is dialed back a little. The shirt is stretchy and very comfortable. Great for travel it dries really fast and washes in the sink, but also could be worn for work or backpacking.
I love this top
This is my first Gauze shirt. I love the way it fits - it hangs nicely without being stiff or too clingy. Super soft. The Navy Poppy is not at all thin or see-through, which I was worried about from the photos of the other ones, and it's a very pretty print. I am 5'6", 125 lbs, small-chested and the small fits perfectly. I am looking for more. Can dress up a bit for work and I imagine it perfect for beachy evenings in the summer.
weird fabic
I have a tunic coverup from carve designs that I LOVE. I wear it all the time in summer. Its the perfect warm weather soft, light weight, quick drying cotton anyone would love for summer. I bought this shirt thinking it would be the same fabric. Sadly it is a kind of rough weird cotton. When I returned it, REI staff acknowleged that overall people didnt like the fabric. Carve designs: whatever the tunic coverup fabric is, USE THAT for all the things!
Pretty design
Beautiful color and light, airy fabric. I only wish these were carried in tall/small sizes. I wish most women's shirts were carried in tall small sizes for longer torsos and arms.
As soon as you wash it, shrinks very significantly
Very high priced but I really need a lightweight summer blouse so I bought it. (Store would not price match). Tried it on, the fit was quite roomy and comfortable. Once purchased, I washed exactly according to directions and the blouse shrank very significantly. It is now unwearable. I am extremely disappointed- and must return it.
New gauze fabric is too clingy & scratchy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to get my latest (probably the 5th!) Dylan shirt in Cilantro Stripe for an upcoming trip. I have loved previous versions of this shirt because it is lightweight with a flattering fit and cottony feel. At 60, I'm still very active but not as svelte as I once was, so I avoid clingy fabrics. Unfortunately, once I washed and dried the shirt per instructions (yes, on low heat) it had seemingly shrunk down a size or maybe two and is now hugging my curves and is much shorter (see pic & vid showing new material on L and old version on R - these are the same size, XL)! The new fabric is much more stretchy and scratchier than expected. I liked the cottony, breezy feel of previous versions - PLEASE bring back the old feel and get rid of the excessive stretch!
Nice lightweight shirt
I have 3 different versions of this shirt. I live in the DC metro region. It can be pretty hot. This shirt breathes really well but isn't a wimpy fabric.
Perfect travel shirts!
I now have 4 of these Dylan gauze shirts. They are the best travel shirts❣️ They cover my midsection, so not too short and not too long. They wash and dry so quickly: I can hand wash in the am and they will be dry by midday! They can be layered with a tank or tee beneath and vest and/ or jacket on top. These shirts cross over from super casual with shirts to dressier with black pants or dark jeans. Best of all they pack down to nothing and weigh next to nothing. An essential part of my travel capsule! They are also perfect for the San Diego weather at home😍 Rocking the XS when I would normally wear a small because I don’t like them too loose. Runs large in bodice.
