Great for road/gravel riding!

I bought these pedals last year for my new MTB. I'm using them for paved roads and gravel riding because I didn't want to risk my shins with metal pins or have to wear shin guards. I was worried they might not have enough grip, but they work great with sticky soled shoes like Five Tens: Once my feet are on the pedals, they don't move unless I purposefully lift my foot. These will be my go to pedals in the future, unless I want to clip in again.

The upgrade is worth it

I have no doubt these are solid pedals, but for real mountain biking, the $10 increase to the Race Face Chester pedals are definitely worth it. The Chesters have replaceable, durable, very grip-y metal pins rather than plastic grips like this model. Better value for your money; $40 for pedals with an entirely plastic surface just isn’t worth it in my opinion (provided you’re planning on doing real trail riding)

Love them: Largest Platform Pedal in the industry.

Yellow! I can finally see where to put my feet! I love the Yellow--people always ask me where I got them. REI may get more back in stock soon hopefully. Red is another great color. Large 4-inch+ platform. You won't find a larger platform pedal from anyone. Holds my hiking or running shoes well. No dangerous metal spikes that can damage your shoes or shins if you slip off. If you need more hold than these pedals, then get the Shimano SPD 's--don't mess with the metal spikes that can sheer your skin off. Light weight--you won't find lighter pedals. Easy to install. One of the best upgrades that I have ever done to to my bike.

Perfect commuter pedals

Picked these up for my commuter bike as I wanted a large platform that gripped without having metal studs to potentially tear up my pants or leg. Going on 3 years with these and still think it was a great purchase.

Nice grip for molded pins.

I commute in a city that doesnt have the best of roads. These are grippy (often follows my sneakers from 6 o clock to 8-9 o clock position when stopped at a light). No slippage. I've hit my shins a few times when off bike and obviously its not bad like metal pins. If you mainly city commute and want a bit of an upgrade without going clipless or flats with metal pins then try this out. I chose this over the bontrager (forget model) and shimano bd something (these werent in stock so couldnt compare)

Very good all round pedal

These pedals are great for general use riding. They are grippy enough that most shoes feel planted. They are not the best choice for serious mountain biking or road riding but are great for commuting, running errands, gravel riding and just riding for fun. They might also be a good introductory platform pedal if you are just getting into mountain biking so your shins don’t get so shredded by the pins on regular platform pedals. These pedals do have a very large platform, which is good, but on a smaller bike they may look like the bike equivalent of clown shoes.

Great for All Mountain, Grips Really Well.

There are a few reviews here that completely miss the point of these pedals - they are for excellent grip WITHOUT metal pins that can destroy your shins. I swapped out my metal pin pedals for these because I simple drop with bad foot position caused serious damage to my shin and took months to heal. No issues since buying these pedals, they are large, easy to keep your feet on, they grip extremely well, those big lugs stick right between your trail/mtb tread and keep you firmly in place. I ride all mountain with a lot of super rough terrain and these things work great!

Perfect

I am 80 and I purchased these pedals because I wanted something a little less aggressive then the ones that have screws sticking up. I like dirt trail riding and they so far perform well.

Great grip but saves your shins.

Great grip but saves your shins. I bought these for my allroad bike that sees commuting, gravel and light trail riding duties. They spin smoothly and give good grip. The black composite body is also clearly different from cheap platforms and holds up well to rocks.

I got a race face Chester pedals which is awesome but I wanted one without the pin for my daily commute, bought this and works like a gem. Love it , grips perfectly with the Columbia Fairbanks low sneakers.
