These are my second pair of climbing shoes after wearing my previous ones for a couple of years. I would consider myself an intermediate climber and I rarely boulder. I’ve been wearing them for two months of sport climbing, on average twice a week. Definitely took a couple of sessions to get my feet used to the feel of a tighter toe box but now that my feet are used to them they really have helped my climbing. I can see a big difference in my toe work. I usually wear a size US 8 but 7.5 in climbing but ended up buying an 8 after trying both pairs. They are still tight on my foot. Overall, I really enjoy these shoes and wish I would have purchased them sooner.
I just started 7 months ago and this was my first pair of shoes. I wanted a vegan shoe so my options were limited in-store. Luckily these shoes are perfect for me! I know climbing shoes are supposed to be snug and people recommended sizing down. I am a street 7.5 and couldn't even get my foot in anything under an 8.5, like not even close. The 8.5 was snug but very comfortable after some break-in time. The rounded toe fits my foot perfectly... I don't even have to take them off between climbs. After 7 months of climbing inside 3 times a week, I just busted through the left shoe and getting them resoled. Would buy again.
These are my first ever pair of climbing shoes and I bought these back in June. I remember trying them on compared to all the other brands (I can’t remember which ones because I knew nothing about climbing shoe brands) and they felt perfect and snug on my feet. Also the price of these shoes is what caught my eye (lol). I usually wear a 7.5 but I bumped half a size up and purchased these in a size 8. They’re good for heel hooking and toe hooking. Overtime, the tip of the shoes got worn down so there were times I’d slip off a tiny chip foot hold. My only complain is that after 6 month, they started getting looser and looser. I would feel a large gap from the sole of the shoe to my heel when I’m up on the wall and air would escape when I land on the mats. Also, these shoes got super stinky. My partner taught me to air my shoes off in between climbs which I did but they still ended up smelling really bad. Overall, these shoes are good for beginners.
These shoes are super comfy and give me the confidence I need when climbing indoors or outdoors, easy or hard routes. The perfect shoes for multi-pitch trad when changing into comfier shoes between routes isn’t an option. Your feet will thank you.
The title sounds like an old Motown song. I am on my second pair Kiras. I boulder and sport climb indoors and out for about the last 6 years. My aggressive pair are the Muira. My *comfortable shoe with feeling* is the Kira. I needed to work on my footwork and was looking for a shoe with less rubber and stiffness than the Muira, but still a little edge for those chips the route-setters claim to be toe-worthy. The Kira has a soft grip that allows you to feel the hold under your foot. The extra rubber on the top help with toe-hooking. These are great for the gym and I started using them when climbing sport because of comfort. They are flexible and work well for slab/granite. My first pair had just two single velcro instead of the the double-backed midfoot strap. I'll update if I like them any less. I would recommend if you are looking for something that can grip, but you are not ready for a downturned or don't like the heel cup on a more aggressive shoe.
I bought these shoes after I sent my other moderate shoes to be resoled. They are more reasonably priced than other moderate/aggressive shoes, however, they do not have the same stretch and bend in the arch/toes as other shoes. As a result, they feel more on the neutral side rather than the moderate side of climbing shoes. The rubber feels durable and held up during outdoor climbs after purchase. A plus is that they are vegan/synthetic. I would recommend if you're looking for a synthetic, "cheaper" shoe and are transitioning from neutral/beginner shoe to a more moderate shoe.
These are my first pair of climbing shoes - settled on them after trying several different pairs of La Sportiva, Scarpa, and Black Diamond. They are perfect - comfortable right out of the box. I ordered my hiking boot size (7.5), which is a half size up from my street shoe size and they are just right. I have low volume feet with a high arch, wide toes and a narrow heel and it's like these shoes were custom-made for me. After almost a year of gym bouldering 2 - 3 days a week, they still fit like a glove.
These shoes had the best fit, and the top strap is made in a unique way that lets you adjust how it pulls. No extra space in the heel behind like some other shoes. So for fit, absolute winner. Unfortunately, the shoes don't last. I climb maybe 4-6 times per month in an indoor gym, and I had them less than a year and already the toe is completely worn through, no rubber left, down to the soft felt and about to see my toe sticking out. Not sure for nearly $150 that it makes sense as an investment...
I've had these shoes for about 5 months, and I'm really enthusiastic about them. I'm a pretty beginner climber, and prior to this pair, I used the Scarpa Origins. I'm so so impressed by the huge difference I've appreciated between these shoes and the Scarpas. (no shade to the Scarpas! I promise!) as soon as I slipped these on, I was blown away by how well they fit my heels? And I've the rubber to be really nice and sticky. As a relative beginner, I've been looking forward to trying as many brands as possible for climbing shoes through time, but I kind of feel really attached to evolv, to be honest! Bottom line: these shoes are pleasant and comfortable to wear and I feel good on the wall when I wear them!
I was looking for a neutral/moderate shoe and found them in this shoe. However, I have wide feet and these shoes did not work. The tongue has two flaps that do not allow for coverage of the top of your feet if they are wide. Also, after an hour or two in a climbing session, my arch felt restricted and uncomfortable. I would still recommend these to a friend as they are less expensive compared to other moderate shoes and could fit those with more narrow feet.
