[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this rain jacket! It fits perfectly, is cute, and repels rain really well. I got the size small (I normally am somewhere between a small and medium) and it easily fits with a shirt and long sleeve underneath it. It also fits comfortably at the hips and zips up easily. The hood with a firm-ish brim is extremely helpful with keeping rain off my face while wearing the hood without the need for a hat under it. The jacket is very sturdy and is well made. The inside is reinforced where all the zippered parts are. There is also a pocket on the inside on the upper left that is zippered. All zippers are covered by the gortex material making the jacket look sleek but also helping with the waterproofness. Under the arms and down each side of the jacket is a zipper for ventilation which is so practical! I open the ventilation zippers all the time even when raining to stay cool. The sleeve also have velcro around the edges the sleeve cuff can be adjust to fit the wrist. Being a rain jacket it’s very easy to wipe down/ clean, but I’ve also washed it in the washing machine and have let it air dry. Overall this is my favorite jacket not only for when it’s raining, but for all outdoor activities. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking to invest in a great jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this rain jacket a couple months ago. I have had the chance to use this in the rain, and love it! It is sturdy and good quality, everything from the stitching to the zippers. There is so much attention to detail, including areas under the arm you can unzip to allow your skin to breathe. This is helpful because I’ve taken it running in the rain. The hood works well and stays over my head. It is lightweight. The rain just beads off the fabric, which is so nice! Overall a great rain jacket, I’m glad I have it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The marmot minimalist jacket has a lot of features. The first is that is very light in weight. It doesn't make you feel all bulky when you wear it. I love that it has zippers through out the jacket. You can unzip them to help the air go through the jacket. All the zippers go up and down easily. This jacket also comes with a hood. On the back of the hood it has an adjustment you can pull on to make it tighter. It's great to have and helps keep the elements out. I love that it comes with two good size pockets in front of the jacket. It also has a nice size pocket with a zipper on the inside. At the bottom of the sleeves there is velcro. I love that it helps to keep me dry.The material is very comfortable and has such a nice and light weight to it on your body. This coat aslo keeps warm and dry. When its rains the rain rolls right off the material. This is the best jacket I have ever owned .
I bought this jacket about year ago and it was in my rotation for about 6 months, before the weather got cold. I like the way it fits and works, but frankly it already looks like garbage. After less than a year of pretty sporadic normal wear it looks incredibly dingy. I washed it a few times according to the instructions and even got some advice from Marmot over the phone, but nothing has worked. I don't feel like I can wear it anywhere other than camping, which is unfortunate for a jacket that costs this much. I would definitely advise against purchasing any of the lighter colors of this jacket.
This jacket was amazing in my recent hike on a very windy day with snow flurries. I didn’t feel the cold air at all and it totally deflected wind! I got the pants too and this was a great overlay. I use this jacket in regular rain also just to run errands. The color is very feminine and pretty!
The jacket would be a great value, it has all the important details needed for mountaneering: pit zip, hood suitable for helmet, sleeve long till mid hand (important when you climb),... The problem is that washing it the first and only time, following Marmot and Goretex instructions, il loses all the DWR protection. All of it. Water just sticks to the jacket until it dries. Don't make my mistake: hand wash it with extremely cold water and a few deterger or BUY SOMETHING ELSE. I also read in more recent reviews that the newer version misses the hood strings: that's bad! When there is strong wind and it rains, you will tend to lose the hood.
I chose this item to replace an older rain jacket I owned by Marmot. I was very impressed by the quality, features, and color, but was a little disappointed to find the sizing to be slightly misleading. I measured myself around my largest areas on my lower-half, which put me at a size large at 45 inches, but upon trying on the jacket I found it to be much too snug to comfortably wear in those areas. I expected with how loose they show it on the models and with the fit guide illustrating some give to the hem, that even though I was on the larger end of the hip measurement, that it should still fit comfortably. That was not the case unfortunately.
One of my favorite jackets. Incredibly versatile for any activity and weather. The fit is also perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality, quality, quality. The first thing that stands out when you see and feel this jacket is that it is made of high quality materials and constructed beautifully. This is a beautiful garment that you will not be disappointed with. Also, the jacket's comfort level rises to the same level of the quality of construction. It is a nice lightweight jacket that is very versatile and I would feel comfortable wearing this anywhere. I can say enough about how amazing this jacket is and how happy I am with it. The gore-tex is awesome and reliable for keeping you dry, while being breathable and light. No complaints from me on this. High quality and reliable jacket.
Love this jacket but definitely had to size down, ordered XS and typically wear between XS and S in tops and jackets. I do have narrow hips (wear a 0-2 pending brand) but even the chest (30 DDD) is larger on me. It's good for layering for summits for sure though, but hard to tighten down in heavy rain. I do get some discoloration that seems to be the inner layer bleeding out in areas of friction--would NOT recommend the lighter colors for this reason. this discoloration has persisted with washing/drying per recommendations from Marmot. Great jacket overall, I just recommend buying a darker color because of the coloring.
