These are my third pair of gym climbing shoes. I find that they are fine, with a neutral platform, and work adequately for my 5.10 (the grade, not the brand) climbing range. The hook-and-loop fastners do provide a more reliable hold than my other lace-up shoes, though I find the fit on the Rogues to be a bit looser overall. Be aware, I had to size up 3 European sizes when going from La Sportiva or Evolv products to these shoes, resulting in making numerous returns before settling on a size that fit.
I really did not like the ways these fit compared to any others from competitors. While some of this is due to foot shape, a good portion of fitment issues were due to the synthetic leather tightening up from the heat of the delivery truck and the weird foot shape of these shoes. They did not work for me but seem decent quality and the synthetic rubber is wonderful
Recently got these shoes while they were on sale. They are great as a gym shoe and are comfortable once broken in! Would definitely recommend to someone who wants some comfortable shoes that may not be taken to the crag.
These were the first climbing shoes I ever bought. If you are also buying climbing shoes for the first time I would recommend these. They introduced me to climbing when I wasn't ready to spend a lot on shoes. I'd say these shoes lasted me three months. The fabric stretched out very easily, but as a new climber it was nice to not be smothered in tight climbing shoes (even though that's how I prefer to climb now). They're definitely broken in since I got them but when I wore them for a climbing session they would stretch out in 30 minutes. I personally don't think I'll ever buy 5.10 climbing shoes again but they were good to start out on. I strongly recommend trying them on in store. You may need an even smaller or bigger size than you think.
