Easy to mount, stable, and quiet fenders!

I really like these fenders, 4 1/2 stars! They are relatively easy and quick to mount / remove. Yet at the same time they are among the most secure and quiet fenders I've ridden with in a long time. Even riding over rougher terrain or bumpy roads they are extremely quiet, no rattling, no wheel rub, no worries about loosening. They provide adequate coverage over my WTB Nano 700 x 40 gravel tires. The only knock I will give them is that they are just a little short in terms of toe / tail coverage. Having said that, I haven't really noticed much toe spray, however, there is definitely some rooster-tail action going to the rear, but either way the bike stays pretty much dry. As such, I did recently add some front/rear flaps from Axx-savers (sorry, profanity filter flagged the correct spelling) to make them more of a true, full-coverage fenders. Overall, I'm really happy with these, and think they're well worth the investment.

Compatibility Issue to be aware of
James
I was generally happy with the quality of the product on arrival. It's definitely designed to be less permanent than a full metal set of fenders, but it's not pretending not to be. I'm sure this will work well for most people on most gravel bikes. Perhaps this is on me for not noticing, but my bike (All-City Cosmic Stallion) has a fork (Columbus Cross Futura) with a bump on it for securing the disc brake cable with a zip tie. This bump sits exactly where the front fender is meant to contact, and prevents its installation. Again, I'm sure this product is fine for most, it's just a compatibility issue people should be aware of.

Great Non Permanent Fender Set

If you live in an area where you don't need a permanent fender set, these SKS Speedrocker are worth a look. Yes, they are thin plastic and have rubber mounts with velcro and rubber straps but it you take them on and off a lot these items make it much less hassle. Initial setup took about 15 minutes and after that its less than a five minute process to reinstall them. They don't fit perfect on my bike but they get the job done and they don't slip or fall off. The front fenders slid just a little on the maiden voyage because the velcro straps stretch out to their normal length (they are rolled up in the packaging and wrinkled up so they need a little time to get the bends out of them) but it took 30 seconds to retighten them and they did not slide for the remainder of a 35 mile ride on dirt. I'm running 43's and these offer plenty of protection from mud and water. I mostly ride on dirt and haven't had any issues with the fenders slipping even after taking them on and off. I have the mounts on the bare paint for reference. I used electrical tape to mark where the mounts sit to make it easier to mount the fenders when I need them. The rear rubber straps work really well and I wish they could have incorporated them to the front mounts as well. The front velcro straps (they have a strip of silcone gripper on them) while not pretty, get the job done. The strap does go over the front disc brake housing but doesn't post any issues (see photo). If you are meticulous and feel you need calipers to install these, you should look elsewhere.

Cheap, thin plastic but the system works

I bought this set since I needed to be able to quickly remove the rear fender to place a bike on my 1up rack. The fender set is easy to fit onto my gravel bike, although the attachment points are a bit inelegant. The main reason for a 3-star rating is the front-half of the front fender is only attached at two points through a velcro strap on the front fork - after approximately 20 miles, the front guard began slipping down on bumpy terrain, until it slipped hard enough that it caught the tire tread and snapped right in half. The set works well enough without the front-half of the front fender, but wit the lack of durability of the fender material (thin plastic), it's not worth the price.

Great fenders for my gravel bike!

I'm a long time user of fenders on my commuting/touring bike. Last year I sold off the commuter and purchased a gravel bike for all-round riding on asphalt and road. Based on my riding and our rainy climate I wanted fenders for the new bike. I chose the SKS Speedrocker Gravel Fender Set. I installed them per instructions and added some after market mud flats, which further reduce road throw. I checked the fenders before every ride and occasionally need to make a small adjustments, but that's quite easy. I very happy with their performance. They exceeded my expectations!

These are permanently all my gravel bikes!!!

I first bought these back in 2019. Now I have these permanently on all of my gravel bikes. I found them to be easy to fit onto each bike I have. It may take a bit of trial-&-error to get them to fit perfectly and have a consistent clearance from your tires but it's SO worth it. They just blow the competition completely out of the water in terms of there looks, their relative coverage, their ability to stay put as a detachable non-bolt-on fender, and they don't ping like crazy if your tired flick up a pebble into them. SKS also has great customer service from what I have experienced.

Compatible with 1up Rack, but fenders can slide

My 1up bike rack needs to make contact with both wheels, so I thought quick remove fenders to transport and reinstall would be worth it. They work okay for this use case, but there has been one instance where they slid down and began rubbing on the wheel. I would prefer to get a set that attaches with real hardware, even if it's a bit more effort to transport. Unfortunately the PDW full metal fenders did not fit my frame, so I'm sticking with these until I find a better option.

Works fine with 650b x 47 tires

The 42mm rating is to ensure adequate (15mm) vertical clearance between a 700C x 42mm tire which may have knobs. On a 650b x 47 (ETRTO 47-584) tire there's plenty of clearance all around. The curvature doesn't quite match so it looks just a bit off if you look closely, which nobody will do. The important thing is that it catches the water thrown up by the tires. I took my gravel bike out on mountain bike trails in the pouring rain and muddy water was gushing out the front but my bike and I stayed clean. I have not had the problems with slippage in front others have reported, but that probably depends on your exact fork. I also put the clear paint protectors on at the mount points, which are a little more grippy than paint. So far the attachment has been secure front and back but your mileage may vary. When in doubt, mount higher for more clearance. The instructions includes are nearly useless. It's a good idea to look at the company's YouTube video; it's in German but it's perfectly clear. It's not rocket science, although the product comes pretty much mostly disassembled, which is odd for a product that's supposed to clip on and off your bike. This makes getting them on *the first time* about as complicated as putting together a permanently mounted fender set. That's not difficult for someone who is handy with tools, but people who have tendency to get frustrated with mechanical things might want to have a bike mechanic to do the initial setup. After that you can strap them on and take them off yourself. These are essentially full coverage fender *for the rider*, although if someone tries to draft on you they may get sprayed. SKS sells a rear extension for that. I've you've never ridden with fenders, you're in for a treat. Riding in a summer downpour becomes pleasure rather than a trial by filthy road water.

Disappointing

The front fender is attached with flimsy Velcro straps which fell off the first time used it. The rear one snapped the second time I used it when a small twig hit it. Not impressed with the quality.

Lightweight, strong, holds tight

It takes some time to assemble this kit when you first get it out of the box, and it took me a while to dial it in. I took the advice in the instructions to inspect everything before (or after) going out. I rode in the rain and snow this winter on mountainous gravel roads here in Vermont, and I still feel delighted with the quietness of these fenders, as well as keeping me dry.
