Pills Imminently
I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this shirt :( Wore it one time, washed on cold/gentle and lined dried. So disappointing. If I had and REI near me I would return it, but not sure if I'm going to mess with mailing it in. Shopping at REI is a special treat I usually everything they stock is such a high quality, guess next time I'll have to do more research since their buyers let this one slip through.
Total Disappointment
Fit, perfect. Cozy level, perfect. Length, perfect. Interior fuzzy material, AMAZING. Exterior material, total disappointment!! After wearing this 1 time it started to pill but I wore it 2 more times hoping that it wouldn't get any worse because I LOVED it soooo much....ultimately I had to return it because it was way too expensive to rationalize keeping it due to the level of pilling that was occuring before I even washed it. I do NOT recommend this item.
Slim cut and pills
This was the softest sweatshirt in the store. I sized up because it’s very narrow cut and I wanted the sleeves to be longer. I was loving it until I washed it. Unfortunately, it started pilling immediately. The inside is still really soft and it’s a nice thick sweatshirt for the cold but there is no way something that costs this much should be so scratchy and bumpy on the outside. I have only had this sweatshirt for 4 weeks. I would not recommend this at all. Very disappointing for a Marmot product.
Good quality and super soft
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fabric they used to make this hoody couldn't be better. My only issue is the hoodie. When you put it on looks fine. Even when it's super huge (extra fabric) and because of the cold you have to adjust it around your face, still looks good, bulky and funny but still fine. However, if you just let the hoodie on your neck/back there's no way it will look fine. Too much (nice) fabric around to make it look cool. Looks messy and badly designed. Photos on the website (I purchased online) don't show this. Model is covering with her hair what would have prevented me from buying it.
Horrible Pilling
After a single wash it is pilling like crazy. Looks like a nasty cheap sweatshirt.
Poor Quality/Material
I bought this shirt because I loved the style, look, and soft feel of the material. I wore it twice before washing and noticed extensive pilling in the underarms and wrist area. After just a couple more wears, noticed even worse pilling in those areas and over the rest of the body, especially around the hips/back. The material quality is poor and I do not recommend this product. I feel that for the price and historically fine quality of Marmot clothing, this pilling should not have occurred.
Pills after a couple wears
I wish I had read reviews before spending my birthday money on this expensive sweatshirt. I splurged since it was so comfy and fit perfectly but within a couple of days the material started to pill in the armpits, cuffs, and chest. it looks as though I have owned this sweatshirt for years when it has actually only been a couple of weeks with one wash. Very disappointed and would not recommend buying even though it’s so tempting since it’s so comfortable!
Cute fit but really pilly!
I bought this less than a month ago and loved the fit! Not a baggy hoodie, but fitted just enough to still be comfortable and cute. Before even washing it, the material started to pull terribly on the front and in the armpits. I have now washed it on a gentle cycle and line dried, the pilling is everywhere and to the point where I don’t even want to wear it. So disappointing since it’s such a cute hoodie and the lining makes it so comfy for fall hikes!
So disappointed
I love the look of this hoodie and was excited by its look, design, colour and cozy inside. So disappointed as after 2 days it started pilling!!! I have just worn it over a week and it looks like I have had it for years! I spent good money and now it is only good for hanging out at home or yard stuff. I bought it as a dressier type hoodie with a unique flair to it and now I don't even enjoy wearing it.
Favorite Hoody
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this in black and wear it almost every day. So soft and comfy. I love the cowl neck style. It has pilled over time, but I guess that that doesn't bother me. I love wearing it and I think it looks nice. I recently wore it for international travel and it was the perfect layer for long flights and airplane temperature fluctuations.
