Great feel
These shoes look amazing and feels great too. These shoes are not for you if you have wide feet. They also have good traction.
Excellent quality, but runs extremely narrow
Nice shoes, could barely fit my foot in, it is for narrow feet, but the overall quality is superb. Unfortunately I have to return or cut my little toe off.
Too snug and not to size.
These are great shoes, but the purchase itself was very disappointing. If you wear an 8, buy an 8.5 because these run small for sure. Also, the insoles are just completely flat pieces of thin foam. Fortunately they are only minimally attached by weak adhesive, so I can hardly wait for my 8.5 replacements to arrive so that I can replace the insoles with my amazing new Sof Sole insoles.
Ready to order a backup pair!
Full disclosure just got them today, so I can't speak to the all day comfort or design quality and longevity. What I can say is that the fit and finish is what you would expect from The North Face. Side note got the approval of my 9 and 12 year olds, a rarity I assure you.
Great shoes with a couple minor drawbacks
I bought these shoes for casual wear and for light hiking (on mostly smooth trails) and walking. So far they are very comfortable with great cushioning and a snug but flexible upper. I got the oxford tan/otter color thinking they would go well with both shorts and casual long pants. I only have two complaints. First, the color contrast is a bit more than I hoped. If the tan portion of the shoe was a bit darker it would not stand out so much and would be better suited to a wider variety of clothing. Also, without a normal tongue part that can move independent from the shoe I hoped the included laces would have some stretch to them, which was not the case. I replaced the laces with the elastic 'no tie' type and they are even more comfortable now, plus I like the brown color of the ones I bought more than the brighter dual color of the original. Despite the negative paragraph above being longer than the positive, neither of these things make me regret the purchase, but fixing them would make a very good shoe even better in my opinion.
Love these lightweight shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These lightweight shoes are really comfortable. It took some getting used to no tongue but now I love them. Very comfortable form most any kind of walking except over really rough or rocky terrain. I just bought my second pair.
Great shoes wear them for hiking and comfort
