Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

I was first impressed with this jacket by how light it is. I was actually concerned that it wouldn't be warm enough because it was so light. I was able to take it on hike up Mt Bierstadt in Colorado. I was very impressed by how warm it kept me and how well it stopped the wind. Our food was frozen by the time we summited but I was warm. I also wore this jacket several times in the rain. After a long time out in the rain the outside of the jacket was damp but the inside stayed dry. We just had our first snow of the season, and with temps in the 20's it is still doing the trick. I would guess that since the jacket is not super puffy it would make a good layer under a winter shell as well for those really cold days. I was a little worried that the zippers might not hold up since they are also so lightweight, but so far so good. I would caution that the sizes run big. Most of my other winter coats and jackets I need an XL, this one I had an XL to start with but had to exchange for a Large. My advice would be if you are on the fence on two sizes, go with the smaller size. All in all I am very happy with this jacket, its warm, light and good at stopping the wind without being excessively bulky. I would reccomend this jacket.
I was excited to snag this jacket at much more affordable price compared to other brands, but unfortunately you get what you pay for with this jacket. Super comfortable and warm but every time I wore it for hiking, my shirt underneath would be covered in feathers. The stitching on the inside is definitely of low quality. REI was nice enough to accept my return after I brought up this issue.
I found this jacket by accident at my local REI, as it had been placed by accident in the ladies section. The fit is perfect in a Medium for my athletic 5’4 build. I wear this jacket while I do farm chores on an animal sanctuary in the Pennsylvania winter. So far it’s done a great job at keeping me toasty in the below freezing temps (when layered properly). The arms are a perfect length that I can move a lot without the sleeves riding up. I caught a snag in a bit of wire fencing, and picked up a $6 patch kit at REI. This jacket takes a muddy beating and so far it has checked all the boxes!
Overall it is a good warm jacket for light cold weather. However I am a bit disappointed by the amount of down that pokes through the jacket and ends up falling out. Most of the down seems to come out around the stitching.
Packable Light Down Jacket. Warm but Sheds feathers. Wore it a couple of times and each time the fleece jacket I was wearing underneath was covered with down and feathers. I returned the jacket for that reason.
Wore a few times (not even on trails) in the couple months I've owned it. Looked down to see a rip with down molting everywhere. Never even felt a snag. REI in Cincinnati refused to return or exchange it because it's quote "normal wear and tear" and instead tried to sell me a patch kit. I've had down in abnormal wear and tear situations that didn't rip like this.
A great puffy for the price (when on sale) but definitely does not compare to other, costlier options. Manufacturing costs have clearly been kept low for pricing and these compromises do affect performance. The torso is literally sewn as a giant rectangle with no contour whatsoever. The billowy cut combined with the lack of cinch for the waist and hood can mean a bit of a draft. While the shell material does seem pretty fragile (I have already gotten a couple small holes), I don't think it's much weaker than other puffies. Just don't expect a lot of durability.
I was heading to Big Bend in the winter. It didn't get super cold but during the day it was mid 40s to low 50s, with nights getting into the high 30s to low 40s. It kept me nice and warm throughout the multiple hikes we did, while weighing next to nothing. I was not able to see how the jacket dealt with the rain but I'm sure that it wouldn't do too bad. I have a very slender build while being 6'0. Ended up getting a medium, and it was just a tad big but not bad by any measure. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a down jacket at a great price! Just go for a smaller size than your other jackets.
I have had this jacket for just under 4 months. At first, I loved this jacket. I wore it very often, and it was my go to warming layer this past winter. I kept it well maintained with proper care. This jacket has lost almost all insulation. The down feathers covered me since month 2 so I kind of knew this was going to happen. I will say that while it lasted it was great; Very warm, lightweight, and packable. It just did not last very long at all.
I agree with the other reviews that the fit is more like an outer layer, but with the hip belt around the waist it keeps the drafts out. An elastic drawcord would be a huge help. However, I wanted to comment on sizing as that is usually the thing that turns me off about online shopping. I am 6'3"-6'4" and weigh 190 lbs. The large fits perfect, the cuffs don't ride up when I stretch my arms out.
