Great Scepter Dispensing Solution
This spout connects well to the 5 gallon Scepter water container, and provides a very good solution to articulated dispensing, without which, the gaping maw of the container can spill and waste when smaller amounts of water are wanted. When packed, I keep this spout with the rest of my car-camping/road-tripping kitchen kit. It’s kind of long and awkward, but I suppose that lends to greater flexibility. I have no complaints. It took me a few attempts to understand the interoperability of the relief valve on the larger lid of the Scepter container. Overall, I think it’s a great piece of equipment for car camping that can be integrated into the reusable long-term water storage solution that is the Scepter water containers. It may be slightly overpriced, but many of the better things are.
So convenient
I bought this to use with a 2.5 gallon Scepter water container while car camping. It works exactly as described. It took me a few uses to realize I had to unscrew the small venting cap on the lid to let water flow freely, so I mention it here to help others. The plastic on the tube did get a little sticky by the end of the week--that old plastic feeling--but it works great so I can live with the imperfection. The convenience is well worth it as compared to trying to pour water from such a big jug.
Doesn't work on scepter look-alike.
I got a military jug that looks exactly like scepter in every way so I was pretty certain it would work. Nope. The Threads are different - won't work and no easy way to adapt. Looks nice otherwise.

Does not work all that great and not really worth the price. I was using this spout on my 10L water jug. The jug leaked from the air valve while using this (or trying to) on my last camping trip, I am returning it.
Makes a tough water carrier easier to use
I really like the scepter water containers, and this makes using them so much easier. Attach and lay on its side, instead of spilling as you try to pour into smaller container.
Good investment
We paired this up with the Jerrycan and it worked great. Though I wished for the tube to be shorter and not so pricey.
$$$ but quality
Expensive for what it is, but good quality. I constructed a wood base under the spout to hold a small bucket so I could wash my hand without getting water all over the place.
Not cheap but worth it
The fit and finish is perfect. The handle is made of plastic...so it's not indestructible. Just take care of it and it'll last a lifetime...along with the Scepter tanks themselves. You could make this yourself for cheaper, but it wouldn't come out as cleanly and you'd have to source a bunch of random bits. I went for the convenience factor - very very satisfied.
Definite must have!
I bought this spout for my 10L containers and it works perfect and does not leak. I did notice that I need to open up the small release valve on the fill lid to increase water flow. Worked perfectly!
It's a spout...
yeah, it does the trick for these water jugs, not much to say. Just note the threading doesn't seem to fit my LCI brand water cans, just the Scepter ones, which is odd.
