My existing inflator was the old school kind that has a large body and held the entire cartridge inside a plastic cage. Worked great but big. As you can see the new style is just a head, no body. You just screw the cartridge in. To activate the flow of CO2 you press down to open the valve. Simple and easy. On some inflators of this type you unscrew the cartridge just a bit, to open the flow. that probably works great, but I'm worried about spilling CO2 to the air and not into the tire. I much prefer this design.

Awful
Purchased this inflator after bring caught without air and getting a flat 20+ miles from home. Yesterday, got my second flat in the middle of an event. After getting my tube swapped, I put my co2 on this and...nothing. No hiss of air, no inflation. Tried turning the nozzle and the switch on the back. Again, nothing. When I got home, and tried to take the co2 off, the entire setup exploded. Absolutely garbage for $25. Look for other options.

So far so good

I tested this on presta and schrader valves because of all the reviews saying they don't work. You do have to press way harder than I was expecting to get it to work (hard enough it really hurt my thumb pressing against it) and on Schrader where nothing is holding the valve onto the rim that's complicated but so far it works great for me. I'm sure it loses pressure once you puncture the cylinder but as far as I know pretty much all of these do.

Valve seems flawed, broke after three uses

It worked great on the first flat, on the second flat the CO2 didn't seem to want to come out and I actually uscrewed the head from the cartridge thinking it was empty. Wrong! That was a shock. On the third flat no CO2 came out at all. The head is definitely screwed down all the way--but I never heard the usual hiss indicating that the cartridge was open. Maybe the cartridge seal puncturing bit broke off somehow. Anyway, I wouldn't trust this thing. And

Poor design or just garbage

Never worked. Went through 3 cartridges , each time nothing. All three exploded when unscrewed. Waste of money.. Hard pass! Look for something else.

Great

Very easy to use. Not loosing CO2 when puncturing the little cartridge.

Just didn't work

Twice I tried to use this on a flat, it worked neither time. Got stuck with a full CO2 cartridge threaded into the inflator head with no CO2 flow, which wasn't great because I don't know what would happen if I tried to unscrew a full cartridge. Ended up wrapping it up and throwing it in the garbage.

Simply does not work

Went to use this when I got a flat while on the road - screwed the CO2 on and nothing came out the valve. Went loosen the cartridge to try another one and it exploded. Defective product!

Don't Buy

First, the inflator leaked. I went through three cartridges, I never could get it to stop leaking. Second, the cartridge insulator is very difficult to take off AND put back on. Because of this, you either need to use with gloves or except your tube change time to significantly increase. Third, at $25, you would expect a much better product.
