Nasty Blowout

I've had these just under a year. Used for walking and light jogging around my property 3-4 days a week, about 2-3 miles each time, mostly on damp or rainy days. So, maybe 75-100 days this past year, at most. I'm 175lbs. They were waterproof, but started to feel damp of late. I found the soles were unbound on both shoes around the front inside of each shoe. Not so great for a shoe this expensive, and for a supposedly rugged trail shoe.

Not rugged enough. Failed to meet expectations

Men's size 13, which is my normal size. The canvas-like material on the outside of the shoe is very rugged. I've scuffed up against rocks and hit sticks the wrong way where with other shoes you'd get a tear. Terrex Agravic held up beautifully. The Continental rubber sole is not. Two months of use and the sole is bald at the ball of my foot and splitting. Deep splits. Continental rubber I figured they'd be as durable as a car tire. Wrong. These are GTX, so they should be water proof and in the beginning they were, but within weeks water started leaking in between the sole and the upper of the shoe. Trekking through muddy trail sections, shallow puddles, wet grass. Nothing that would come up/over and inside the shoe per se. Traction is descent in all conditions prior to the sole going bald. I have a narrow foot, narrow heal. Roomy toe box, but the heal is not narrow enough. Had to use heal-lock lacing technique to lock in my heal to prevent slippage and it worked. Laces on these shoes are very good. Shoes are very light weight. Not impressed with the "Boost" feature. I've used a well known Italian brand of trail shoes that were significantly better cushioned. Sometimes with the Terrex I can feel my knees at the brink of wanting to ache. I'm 6' 3" tall. I hesitate approving these shoes for rugged trail use. Failed to meet my expectations.

Good shoe bad design unfortunately

I've had these trainers for 6 months I don't do alot of trail running and I've looked after them and they are in good nick for 6 months old. But unfortunately they have split either side on both shoes at the widest part of the shoe where they naturally flex, now my feet get wet now. This is down to the design where to materials meet and the way they have shaped it encourages it to split!!!. Not what you expect esspecially at the price you pay, poor design not the best Adidas trainers I've had. Shame

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention - highly appreciated. Please return them to your origin of purchase and we'll have a look at them for you. This doesn't seem right! Best,

Great walking trainer that stays waterproof longer than most

Had previous version of these and loved them as a walking shoe - found them too heavy for trail running GTX lining stayed waterproof for about 6 months (that's good for shoes/boots). These are slightly lighter, the weight seems to have been saved by removing the wadded padding from the tongue and the tongue is now made from high density foam - will have to see how this is for lace comfort. The boost foam outlasts the insole and the rest of the shoe in general. The upper was tough and stood up to a lot of scree and rocks without needing an extensive rand. Love the brighter colour options now and the lighter feel in the feet.

weatherproof, urban-friendly shoe

I am not a trail runner, but trail running shoes are great sneakers for MN winters. The Agravic’s weatherproofing details include a gusseted tongue, an effective age-old design feature, incorporated into an otherwise decidedly 21st century shoe. The thick, soft-touch material on the uppermost part of the tongue is also a thoughtful design feature. The lacing system allows me to get a nice fit on both feet even though one of my feet is a good half-size or so bigger than the other. The shoes are very comfortable and sure-footed while walking and keep the full chill of the hockey rink out while standing in the bleachers cheering for my son. And they look great to boot. I’m a fan.

Comfortable trail shoes.

Best trail running shoe I’ve had, most races are 20km to 50km obstacle racing. Sole grip is amazing on wet trails and on obstacles, best I’ve used so far. I have Ultraboost running shoes in the knit fabric and found them light and super comfortable. Gave the Terrex Agravic GTX a go because of the boost tech, they are soft on the trail, cushion comfort, but I still feel the trail at my feet. I have wide feet and the US10 was narrow towards my toes and made my feet sore by the end of races, only a small thing considering everything else is sore also. They feel so comfortable on my feet as I go through mud and water so I’m ordering the US10.5 and hope that fixes the small problem I have with size.

Great, stylish, reasonably comfortable, waterproof!

I already have the Terrex AX2R GTX (all black) which are wonderfully comfortable and was looking for another piece of waterproof footwear. The Continental grip and boost feature caught my eye. I can't say I felt any difference in the boost compared to the Terrex AX2R GTX and not really had the opportunity yet to test the difference in grip. I see these as a more vibrant and stylish version of the Terrex AX2R GTX Shoes, albeit slightly narrower for the same size, which was marginally less comfortable. All in all, great though I prefer the Terrex AX2R GTX ever so slightly for all-day wear.

Best Trail Shoe Ever!

Absolutely Love These Trail Shoes! I have walked 431 miles in these shoes in the first seven weeks that I have owned them. The only thing that wore out were the laces. Which is not really a big deal if you consider the mileage. Ninety percent of the walking was done on dirt trails on state land. I never got a soaker even though I only ventured into no more than three inches of water or mud. The fact that these shoes have "boost" made all the difference in the world. I probably will not even consider buying another pair until I put a total of 1000 miles on them. Love these shoes!

BUYER BEWARE OF THE LACES

WATCH OUT FOR THE LACING SYSTEM. THE LACING ALONG THE FRONT OF THE FOOT CROSSES RIGHT OVER THE PINKY TOE. THIS LACING MAKES WEARING THESE SHOES UNBEARABLE DUE TO THE FRICTION ON YOUR TOE THEN THESE SHOES WILL GIVE YOU A BLISTER. I DO NOT THINK ANY ONE FROM ADIDAS ACTUALLY TRIED THESE SHOES ON BEFORE MARKETING THEM. ALSO THESE SHOES ARE SHAPED WEIRD ALONG THE ANKLE COLLAR. I AM IN NO MEANS A FAN OF 'HIGH TOPS" BUT THE ANKLE COLLAR IS TOO LOW AND IS UNABLE TO PROPERLY LOCK YOUR FOOT IN PLACE UNLESS YOU TIE THE SHOES SO TIGHT YOU AUTOMATICALLY GET A BLISTER ON YOUR PINKY TOE HOW I EXPLAINED ABOVE. THE GORETEX ON THESE SHOES IS AMAZING. THE SOLE ON THESE SHOES IS GRIPPY BUT IT DOESNT LAST LONG

Excellent trail shoes for different surfaces

Coming from running with UltraBoost & UltraBoost ST, Terrex Aggravic's ride is on the firm side, but provides excellent grip on different surfaces; tarmac, concrete, compact soils, roots-covered trails, loose gravels and grasses. The Continental rubber outsole with MTB thread patterns is quite unique.
