Awesome Saddle!!!!!!!! I also have the Ergon grips
This saddle is the best ever for the past 2 years. The sad part is I bent it so i am looking for another one.
Hard on the Jewels
Ergon SM Comp Saddle: Ergon customer service told me I should NOT buy the brand new SMS short nose saddle with the wide perennial relief channel, specifically marketed for steep seat tube angle modern geometry mountain bikes, based on my riding style, which is All Mountain, Enduro-Lite Winch and Plummet laps, 5-20 miles, 4-5 days a week (head scratcher). I assume the SMS hasn't been added to their Saddle Finder database. So I took their advice and got the SM Comp. I normally ride a WTB Volt Gel (seems the Gel might possibly discontinued, though REI still has inventory). I have a bony bum, so the gel is great on my sit bones, even if I forget my chamois shorts. The problem is the nose is always smashing my taint on steep climbs. Enter the Ergon SM Comp. It's not as soft as gel but not as rock hard as the SM Pro race saddle. Marketing logic says gel saddles inflict more pain on longer rides because of sinking in, but again, I have no natural rump padding, so more testing is to be revealed in regards to the sit bones. Gel feels better on the Jewels though. Unfortunately, the firmer nose, even with a relief channel, smashed the taint and jewels. Ugh. The pros are the shape and size. M/L is perfect for my 12cm sit bones. The profile is nice and lean, and leaves really good clearance on descents. But unfortunately, the nose left a lot of prostate pressure on the steep climbs. I guess I'll either try the SMS Comp next, or default to the SMC Sport Gel (even though marketing tells me Gel is not appropriate for rides over an hour or so).
More comfortable
I bought this seat after a recommendation from another rider. I had started developing some tender spots and this seat fixed the issues. Very comfortable and worked for me.
Great saddle for MTB
Really like this saddle for mountain biking. Obviously saddles are very subjective, but this one works well for my body in the context of the mountain bike. Tried it on the gravel bike but I didn't like it for that. Too narrow, too much pressure in the center line when I'm leaned forward in a more aggressive riding position.
New favorite saddle
My previous favorite was the Specialized Avatar, which they haven't made in years. This one is better. Done a few 6+ hour rocky hardtail mtb rides on it so far; it's a winner. Nice wide sit platform, the ti rails give a bit, just the right amount of padding, etc. My back and backside are both happy with this one, and I'll be taking it on my next AZTR attempt.
perfect trainer saddle
Prior to using this saddle, I would start training with Trainer Road only to have saddle discomfort force me to stop after the first week. So far, I’m in the second week of training pain free and I anticipate the following weeks going just as smoothly. The saddle also comes with an adapter for attaching Topeak accessories.
Best Saddle Ever
You only get a few contact points on your bike, so its important to get the right grips, pedals, and seat. Ergon products arent cheap but in my experience they're worth every penny! This saddle was what Ergons calculator reccommended on their website and its the perfect size and aleviates the issues I inputted to there. Its my favorite saddle I've tried to date!
Uncomfortable, but durable. Would buy the gel next
This seat is very durable, is also fairly uncomfortable compared to the WTB Bolt I used previously.
