Super shorts

These are great shorts and could easily be excellent shorts. Like the Ferrosi pants, the front pockets need to be 1-2 inches deeper. Unlike the Ferrosi pants, the back pockets on these don't have zippers or even a velcro flap so they aren't very secure. Unlike the pants these have reasonable belt loops which is really nice. The thigh pocket is just the right size for my Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone but that is about it. A good size bellows style cargo pocket on the left thigh would be really nice. Overall I really like these shorts and wear them a lot for hiking, backpacking and casual wear. With just a little effort, these could be five star shorts.

Good shorts. Front button is a little long.

These shorts are all-around solid. For a shorter guy like me, it's great that they have an 8" inseam option. The material is stretchy , comfortable and lightweight. The zipper pocket on the right leg is (barely) big enough to fit an iPhone 6. They're good for most outdoor activities and nice enough to wear to casual events too. Cons: I really wish that these had a draw string so i could hike without using a belt to keep them up. Waist seems larger than a normal 32". I need to wear a belt to keep these up and usually 32"s fit me perfectly. The button on the front is a little long - it would be nice if it were flatter to my waist and didn't stick out quite so much.

Best Shorts I've Ever Owned

These shorts are just awesome. They are light, water resistant (not waterproof), comfortable, and quite durable. I use them for backpacking, but will also wear them around town on a warm day. Basically, they perform well, but they also look awesome. I am usually in between 31 and 32 on pant size. I bought both these shorts and the short-convertible Ferrosi Pants at size 32. These shorts fit perfect (just slightly large so they're comfortable but dont fall off) while the Ferrosi pants fit too large (next time I will get a 31-30). They have a stretchy material so I think you're better off going conservative on the sizes.

These shorts rock!

After owning a Ferrosi Hoodie for several years it was time to try the shorts. At 5'9" and 215 pounds and with a short femur length, shorts that fit have been hard to find. Most are like pedal pushers on me. My Ferrosi shorts fit perfectly. Thigh and waist fit were comfortable and the 8" length came an inch above my knees. A quick bushwhack hike proved the shorts to be stretchy and resistant to scratchy branches and wild rose stingers. I will use these on an upcoming backpack trip that will involve scree travel and the associated perils of bum sliding on sharp limestone. I'm sure that they will hold up.

Replaced ALL my other shorts

I am an athletic build and avid crossfit/backpacker. I bought 1 pair of these to give them a try. They actually had size 31 which is something a lot of brands don't carry. The fit was perfect. They feel and look great. I've used them for everything from backpacking, swimming, floating, and even for some cross training.. I recently purchased one of every color and donated all my other shorts. Do not hesitate to buy.

Have purchased multiple pairs

I wear these shorts for anything and everything. I've worn them throughout a vacation in Europe, for a road trip to California, many hiking and backpacking trips in Colorado, or just out around town hanging out with friends. They're comfortable and functional enough to work for backcountry adventures, but they also look nice enough to wear out on the town with a button-up shirt. The only con I have noticed is that they tend to stretch out a little bit over time due to their material. Mine have done this around the waist a bit, but I always wear a belt, so it hasn't bothered me much. They're my absolute favorite pair of shorts and I have returned to purchase multiple pairs in different colors.

Light and Stretchy

Fairly straightforward pair of shorts. They offer excellent stretch and move with you through a variety of uses. The shorts are quite lightweight and very packable. I've primarily used them as 'overshorts' while tour cycling since they are light, flexible, and dry quickly while still offering a decent array of pockets. The waist seems a bit large (or possibly just stretches like the rest of the shorts.) The ability to tighten the waist would be ideal and get them that 5th star. Otherwise, I am quite happy with them although I haven't had the chance to verify long-term durability yet.

Love these would buy again, I may buy the pants.

I love these shorts. I never realized how much I could enjoy a pair of shorts. Its my first pair of shorts made out of a stretch material like this. 10/10 I recommend. I am thinking of getting the pants to go with them. You cant go wrong, that's my take.

I would buy this product again and again. And did.

Love these shorts. Bought 2 pair in Grey and Coyote for cycling, hiking and just plain leisure chillin around. Normally, I wear 31-32, these in 30 fit just perfect. Not too baggy and loose. Perfect stretch too!

The Ferosi pants and shorts are great. They are super comfortable, light weight, and pack small. They are perfect for travel, and walking. They could be used for hiking also. They are good for warm to moderate temperature wear. I would not use these in cold weather. The one thing that would make them better is if they had more then one zippered pocket. The zippered pocket is one the side of the pant, a thigh pocket. I like zippered pockets as they secure valuables better with less chance of falling out of your pockets during activities, but other then that, they are great.
