UPF 30, not 50
I received this shirt from Flylow directly today, and there’s some good, but some bad. It’s a flattering shirt, and the material feels durable for a sunshirt. I am 5’11” and 145 lbs and got a small, which fits well but if I were to do it again I’d get a medium for a more comfy fit. The kicker is that the tag on the shirt specifies in two places that it is UPF 30, not UPF 50 as the website says. I see that REI also lists it as UPF 50. I emailed Flylow support and they apologized and said that is is UPF 30. This definitely left a bad taste in my mouth about the incorrect info, and I had originally taken a chance on Flylow over a trusted company, Patagonia. REI’s sunshirt buying guide says that UPF 30 is good or ok, but 50 is “great”. I would hope that paying $80 for a sun shirt would get you a great sunshirt. Definitely should have bought the Patagonia capilene cool daily one.
