For starters the Wonderland 4 tent is relatively lite weight for its size and comes very conveniently bagged with instructions on the outer bag and with additional bags that contain the poles and a bag for the stakes and guy lines. This tent weights in at 20 pounds so I would not use it for backpacking, but it is a great car camping tent. The setup is very straight forward with a ridge line pole, two straight poles for each end and a pole with Y connectors for the middle section. It was very simple for two people to have the tent fully staked, raised, and fly attached and secured within about 20 minutes. The tent was tested at home to assess set up and familiarize ourselves with the components and then was tested in the Coyote region of New Mexico for one night under mild conditions and mid 60 temps during the day dropping to mid 30's at night. The second test was in Water Canyon Camp Ground in New Mexico for two nights where we went without the fly to admire the clear sky's and stars at night. We experienced gusty winds up to 18 mph and temperatures dropped below 30 at night. It was chilly sleeping conditions with the fly off and the wind, but we were prepared and enjoyed the star filled sky with the almost full mesh top to the tent. The last test was in the El Morro area of New Mexico where we arrived with strong winds and gusts up to 35 mph. It took a little longer with the tent set up as we were utilizing all stake locations and ensuring poles were secure, but after 45 minutes we had the tent up and secure. Winds gusted throughout our stay and we had a snow storm with 2-3 inches our last night. Temps were in the low 50's at day and mid 20's at night, but with the fly and our set up inside we were quite cozy and warm and the tent held up surprisingly well under high winds and snow. Overall, this was a great tent. Loved the ease of setup and the spaciousness inside with two full doors to enter or egress from. The zippered doors have zippered windows on the upper half and there are two triangular zippered windows on the sides of the tent to provide cross ventilation or views as needed. There was only the two of us and a dog and we enjoyed being able to use a memory foam mattress, double sleeping bag, and down comforter for the cold nights as well as a stool to sit on in one of the corners. I did miss having a vestibule of some type to store wet or dirty shoes and gear that we dealt with after a snow. There are mesh storage spots on all four corners, although it would have been nice if a few were lower to store headlamps or other gear that was reachable while laying down. There are loops at points on the ceiling to hook a line for hanging gear or clothes and almost the entire top half is mesh, which was nice for star gazing. While our intent was not to test it under winter conditions the Wonderland was a solid performer in winds and snow and our dog approved as well. We look forward to further use as the weather warms in New Mexico.

wonderland 4 plastic pole hubs

I used a new Wonderland 4 for the 1st time... loved it but the plastic hub on the 'v" shaped pole cracked. when I wanted to buy a new one was told by "tent technologies" that they didn't have the part, didn't know when it would arrive from S.Korea in May (maybe)2023. They stated that that plastic part is notoriously problematic. Returned tent since the plastic can't be trusted.
However, loved the tent, stayed dry in 1/1/2 days of heavy rain & plastic part held together with mole skin & twine. Not the most reassuring set up.
This was our 1st tent after years of backpacking with a 3.5+ pounder. We have aged out of backpacking.
Would recommend only if tent pole hubs are replaced with a different material.
Please urge design team to do something about this to make it more reliable.

Sweet Tent

Got this tent via REI Product Advisor program - free for unbiased review.
We first set it up in the backyard for practice, then in Blue Canyon / Bretz Mill in Sierra National Forest.
Setup: I'm totally used to tents with "X" pole layout - the typical for high end freestanding tents. This one has "Y"s at the long center sections with normal "U"s at the ends with another one going longways. This takes two people to set up (opposing side pole holes), whereas I'm able to set 6p tents up solo. It took us 10 minutes.
Ventilation is awesome. The color is awesome (and pretty) - it doesn't get super hot or attract bugs, which I've noticed bright and dark colors can do here in the Sierra Nevada. The inverted "V" vents on either side, coupled with the vents at the top let plenty of air go through the tent. Even in partial sunshine, it wasn't unbearable in the tent with the rainfly on. The doors half unzip to mesh upper/nylon lower. Rainfly coverage is plentiful, and you still have crossbreeze options via the "V" vents and the spaces above either door, and the upper half of the doors themselves.
Interior: The gear pouches at each corner are high enough to keep stuff out of the hands of little ones. My 3yo son and 1yo daughter weren't able to get in there. There's one at each corner. I'm 6'3 and had no problem entering the doors or standing up inside the tent. Had plenty of room to lay down, also. Pic is with a Siesta Double sleeping bag thrown in there right when we first set up.
Structure: All the seams are taped, and well. The zippers are not waterproof, but there is a drip rail along the zipper, so water shouldn't find its way in, should it get past the zipper. When pulling the tent apart, I could see the poles got "bent". Not concerned with durability with that - that is the shape they'll take every time the tent is erected - but something I noticed. The tent body is stout, and definitely feels better than a cheapo tent. I'm used to aluminum stakes - and really enjoyed using the beefy steel stakes in soft ground - no trip hazard with the downward bend, and they held well.
Being that I got it in exchange for an honest review, I can't give a value perspective, though I can compare to other tents I've had. This is leaps and bounds above cheap tents, big box store style, even some from big names. The design features, fully taped seams and even separate storage bags for components are awesome. Build quality is stout, and there is attention to detail - like the drip rail along the zipper. This is a truly versatile tent good for warm and cool weather.

Big upgrade from sleeping in a 2-person tent
2 years ago
My partner and I always have slept in a 2-person backpacking tent whenever we go car camping (with a dog, too). After getting tent envy from seeing everyone else at our campsites with much bigger tents, we decided to purchase the Wonderland tent while it was on sale. Since buying it, we've used it 5 separate times.
Setup:
The first time setting up this tent was a little bit difficult. It's certainly not like any tent I have set up before, so we needed to look at the instructions quite a few times to make sure we were doing it right. One thing that was nice was the color coordinated pole tips and tent inserts. It makes it super easy to identify which poles go where pretty quickly. After setting it up a few times, we've managed to get it down to ~10 mins per setup with two people (not including guy lines). It is a little more difficult trying to set it up alone.
Windows/Airflow:
Lots of windows keeps the air moving through the tent efficiently. Since the doors only have the window on the top half, that can somewhat limit the amount of airflow you feel when laying down in the tent. That being said, it cools off pretty quickly inside at night. I love the little triangle windows since they are at eye level when laying down.
Rainfly:
Even when the rainfly is on, the airflow is comfortable. We would recommend using the guy lines at least for the rainfly over the little triangle windows since it creates a little more room for air to move beneath the rainfly.
In terms of protection from the elements, we felt super safe in the middle of a heavy thunderstorm (well, at least from the rain). We had pitched the tent on a slight decline so I was worried water would just flow down the hill into our tent, but thankfully, we woke up to a completely dry interior (we did purchase the separate Wonderland Footprint, and you should too).
Spaciousness:
I am 6'8" tall. I never thought that I would be able to (mostly) stand up straight inside of a tent. It feels kind of crazy how big this tent is on the inside. We have a double sleeping pad, and it feels like we take up maybe 1/2 of the tent. This gives us plenty of space to store some of our stuff in the tent with us, rather than having to make many trips to the car.
Another nice thing is right outside the doors, there’s a space that is mostly covered by the rainfly where you can leave shoes to keep it clean inside. We also were in an unshaded spot at our campsite, so we set up our chairs right by the door and managed to get some shade.
Overall:
I honestly feel like I could live in this tent pretty comfortably. It's spacious, has good airflow, and keeps the rain out. It's pretty easy to put together once you've done it a few times and can be done by a single person (although two people makes it significantly easier). Definitely a great purchase!

Solid tent
This tent is super solid and I would expect it to last for years. Feel really durable. Used it for the first time this past weekend. Initial set up was somewhat challenging to get the poles into place but that might loosen up after it gets set up a few times. The color coded poles were great. Fit our double sleeping bag and out large dog bed perfectly along with space for out bags (pictured). As usual with a “4-person” tent it would be tight with 4 adults but perfect for our family. Also plenty of height to stand all along the tent (not just in the center as with most tents) due to the more tunnel shape. Also lots of mesh, which I love, even along the sides (also pictured). It was great whether so we didn’t need the rainfly. I do wonder how well that would hold up since it doesn't cover all the way down the sides of the tent. It also easily fit back in the bag at the end of the trip which is nice. Overall a great 4 person tent, poles were really solid and felt very durable.

Max Comfort at Basecamp!
I purchased this tent for car camping when I bring my dogs and prefer a spacious basecamp to return to after long days of hiking. I can set up this tent on my own - for reference, I am a 5’3” female - though I will admit, it takes a little creativity especially when putting on the fly since this tent is tall. Setup is easy when you follow the instructions sewn inside of the stuff sack. It’s super helpful and takes the guesswork out of setup (not needing Youtube to figure it out is extra star-worthy!). After a couple of times I didn’t need to refer to them any longer as it’s pretty intuitive. And with two people the tent can be slapped together quickly and taken down in a jiff.
The features are on point in this tent. First of all, it’s roomy and if you like to spread out, this tent has you covered. The mesh door panels and triangular side panels allow you to enjoy fresh air while taking in the views even with rain fly attached. The tent has two side pockets in each corner, for a total of 8 tent pockets - if you like to feel ultra organized (like me) or like to have your headlamp/bear spray at hand (also like me), you will also appreciate this. It also has loops along the ridgeline for hanging lights or what have you.
The tent has no vestibule, and that is one of the major downsides when you compare it to a tent like the Bunk House by Big Agnes that is “all-in-one”. However, I liked this tent enough to purchase the mudroom as well as two additional poles so I could add those to complete my set up. There is no vestibule on this tent like others have mentioned. With that being said, I would recommend the mudroom to anyone seriously considering this tent. You’ll be psyched when it rains and you have a shelter to cook and chill under until the weather subsides, as well as a space to hold your extra gear.
I’ve used this on several fall excursions and it has rained at some point each time. Welp, have no fear of water intrusion in the Wonderland 4! It survived a freakish thunderstorm with torrential rainfall on one occasion, as well as hours x hours of rainfall from Tropical Storm Nicole. With the added guy lines, it’s withstood some relatively windy conditions as well. In addition, I’ve also had no problems with condensation in this tent. Just an FYI - some of the tent poles have begun to bend slightly, but nothing has broken in my usage thus far.
Looking forward to many more adventures with the Wonderland 4!

Nice Tent
Really nice tent, camped in it for a week in Arkansas. I have the footprint, and mud room. Not as easy to setup as a traditional dome, but the head room, and usable space make it worth it. Stayed bone dry in a 12 hour steady rain, and the mud room was really nice for staying dry without being cooped up in the tent.

Well designed tall tent.
I love my new tent. It is wonderful to be able to stand up straight in the tent. The footprint in bigger than my old 4 man tent and the extra room is nice. I practiced putting up the tent at home and have no trouble putting it up by myself. Having 4 windows is great for ventilation and I have used it without the rain fly to watch the stars at night.

Bestest tentest everest!
Best tent ever!!!! Tall enough that I can stand inside, but not too tall that I can’t set it up. It’s easy to set up and take off without help (just me), and yet it’s big enough it feels like a palace inside. Plenty of pockets inside and little hooks for lights and whatever. You can close up all the windows and rainfly or leave completely open w just the screen and enjoy the view from your sleeping bag… Even the lines and shapes that it forms when you are inside are beautiful!
It’s on the heavy side, but because I only car-camp I don’t care.
I’m in love with this tent and it works so well and it’s so amazing that it makes me want to go camping even more!

Great tent, almost perfect.
I’ve taken this tent out so far on three trips. I like a really roomy tent and this definitely fits the bill. It’s just me usually. Sometimes my dog too. Twice I’ve had heavy downpours and the first time it was completely dry inside. The second time, on the more wind/rain driven side of the tent, it did drip some rain in via the little strap that you use to tie down the “V” window on the side. The little tie strap starts on the outside of the tent, so water saturates it outside and then travels thru it into the tent. It did not do this on the non driven rainy side of the tent. I saw this also happen to someone on a you tube video so I looked for it. So I placed a hand towel there just in case. It worked to sop up the water. I’ll have to go back and find that video because the guy had a way of making it waterproof as well.
Being that I camp alone, I have absolutely no problems putting this tent up myself. I’m a 58 year old woman who just started camping the last couple years and it’s very easy. Just follow he directions and do the steps in sequence and the tent practically erects itself. If it was very windy or rainy, sure there might be some swearing, but I’d manage. And I have got faster at putting it up each time. Not sure why so many say it’s difficult setting it up alone as I am the farthest thing from a hardy girl.
Things I love: The height. LOVE being able to stand up. The roominess. The triangle side windows to gaze out of. The added mud room to keep all my stuff covered. I do wish the mud room was tall enough to stand in though. And it never does stay really taught. Perhaps another support pole would be good. Although I typically go to guy it out. Maybe that would make it more taught.
Things I don’t love: Wish at least one of the doors was full mesh and not just the top half. Would give it much better thru ventilation in the heat of the summer. But even better, it would be nice to gaze out that door/window from a sleeping position. It did take me a bit of time putting it up myself at first but now I’ve got it down and it is getting faster every time. I probably spend most of my time figuring out which direction I want to face. Now for the worst of it. The bag is ridiculously small! I have to sit down on the ground and use my foot to jam the thing back into the bag. Come on REI, make a larger full zip bag. Not one that is like stuffing a sausage back into its casing. This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the end of each trip. Not the last thing/impression I want to have after a nice trip. Was actually cursing REI for this. Made me think… how could they cheap out on something so simple? It’s not a cheap tent. Maybe they don’t care?? 🤔 I’m purchasing a separate bag for it going forward. Life is too short to end a good trip on a bad note. Other than these things, I do enjoy the tent.

Wanted to love this tent
The quality of materials on this tent is very disappointing. Set it up for the first time this week and immediately the center pole that connects to the two hubs bent, the clips for this pole are not an equal distance from the center point and I believe that contributed to the issue. I camped for 2 nights in the desert and we had it staked (had to use stakes from a prior tent because the wonderland stakes kept bending) one of the guy out tabs also started to tear out at the seam. Wanted to love this tent but I have returned it. The Tucson REI CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT1
