Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

These fit exactly as I had hoped!
Shipment arrived today and I am thrilled! The rainpants fit nicely over the curves without pulling over the rear or slacking in the lower front. Waist has a drawstring but sits exactly at my waist so I only need to cinch if I am moving a lot. I like how long the pants are because they come slightly out over the shoelaces, enough to act as semi-gaiters on my shoes. This is great if I am in wet, tall brush. The width of the legs makes it easy to put on or remove over shoes. Color is a non-glossy black and fabric does not create a super loud swish as I walk. The zipper in each pocket has a sturdy fabric tape that made me think there was a tag inside the pocket. I can get used to that.
Might consider sleeping in them...
I searched high and low for a comfortable pair of plus size rain pants! I bought so many different pair online and in store only to return them disappointed that they, yet again, simply did not fit well. These pants put an end to all my sorrow and brought rest to my weary soul....ha. Seriously though, they are so very comfy and stretchy. I would say they fit a tad bigger than other brands. I normally wear a 3x but ordered these in a 2x and they were perfect, even with a pair if pants underneath. Look no further.... you've found THE pants.
Great rain pants.
Finally a rain pant that is stretchy and fits great. These fit larger than expected. I have a size 60" tush/hips and the 3X fit great. The stretch makes these so comfortable, especially when bike riding in the rain. Unlike other rain pants that usually have no give whatsoever. The waist did seem a little large and the drawstring is a flimsy cord, but it does the job.
Yay for plus sized outdoor gear!
Love that REI is starting to carry plus sized gear. I do wish for a larger range of colors and more sportier styles. That being said I do like these rain pants! They have a little stretch to them which helps with the fit. Nice quality. Came back thinking I might get the matching jacket but seems they are all sold out. Tempted to get a second pair of pants for when these inevitably wear out. Hard to find plus size pants that aren't also way too long.
Love these pants!
I love these pants. They fit great around my waist, have flexible movement, and aren't to loud. I wish that there was an option for a short, regular, or long size available as the pants are about 2.5 inches to long (even with boots on).
Generous sizing
I purchased a 2x based on the size chart. They were enormous on me. I am 5'3 and they were several inches too long as well.
