Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Excellent! Pastel Lilac is the actual design.
I bought this jacket in Fjord. I love it so much! I run and hike it. It started down pouring in the middle of my latest run and I got soaked through so definitely not great in heavy rain. There's a question posted from a savvy customer about the style of the green jacket vs the purple (good catch!). My green jacket matches details/design of the purple one; so it has the front and back shelf seam and not the single seam that the green jacket appears to have. Don't mind my wrinkly jacket. I keep it packed it in it's storable pouch but it naturally unwrinkles as you wear it. Love it so much for (dry!) runs!
shocker
This jacket was purchased on sale and I suspected it would be the most frivolous REI purchase ever made by me - I gave it a try on my first wilderness backpacking trip expecting sun all 4-6 days. Yes to the sun but NOOO to the bugs and mosquitos. It was warm even at higher elevations but the put this on as it was my sole long sleeved item and it saved me from ravenous bugs. I wore it night to take the edge off and went they one hail storm. I take this jacket everywhere with me for little rainy storms and bugs. I never over heat in the jacket. I’d buy it at full price now knowing how much I rely upon it (thinking about getting another so I never am without it). Lilac is lovely too!
Have been wishing for one of these for years
My husband got a very light weight shell some years ago, and I have looked for one ever since. Now, FINALLY, REI is making most of its clothing in Plus sizes, so I could finally get one. It's great - except for one thing. The jacket packs into its own pouch, which has a waist strap so it can be carried along easily. Except that this strap is NOT plus size, so of course, it does not fit around my waist. Oh well, the jacket itself is a great fit.
My favorite lightweight jacket!
I initially bought this jacket because I wanted a lightweight jacket. The other day, I went on a 5 mile run in the pouring rain, mid 40 degree weather and this jacket kept me dry!!!! I had a long sleeve shirt, a half-zip, and this jacket on. It did a good job in keeping the heat inside even though it was cold and raining. I can’t recommend this jacket enough.
Runs small in the arms
I am normally an XS or S in REI clothing. I love how lightweight this jacket is and stretchy. Unfortunately, I am unable to fit a mid layer (a lightweight fleece zip-up) between my base layer and this shell. It is too tight in the upper arms. Bummer. I would have loved this otherwise. I am going to try a M, but worried it will be too loose elsewhere.
Favorite fanorak
I love this little jacket!! I bought it as a bit of a goof, not sure if it would be useful. It definitely is!! I have used it as a fanorak / waistpack for hiking, and also its small scrunch-up profile makes it easy to chuck into my bag or panniers in other situations. It's also actually quite nice-looking as a jacket, and it does the trick as a minimal windbreaker. It's a great extra coat to have on hand for less-prepared companions, and it layers well over my REI 650 Down Jacket to make a more weather-proof mini system for summits and changes of weather. It's no rain shell obviously, but if it's only drippy out, I'd much rather wear this coat than a real shell.
perfect lighter staple for wind/rain protection
i recently bought this to have a very lightweight packable option for wind and rain when i don’t want to bring a raincoat or poncho. it does pack into it’s own fanny pack which i can see might be useful but i cut off that part as i know i’ll never use it. anyway- went out on a windy and rainy day about 35-40 degrees and wore this over a wool hoodie. it was fantastic and held up to the rain/wind which was substantial. i did not subject it to hours of rain- just 3 miles of it or so but the jacket performed extremely well and i already love it and it’s already become a staple. it’s very roomy and perfect for layering over a bulkier mid layer when you want to cut the wind/rain.
Women's Flash Jacket
Love the fit of this jacket. It has a slight give and is lightweight. I also like that it compacts into it's own fanny pack.
Just right wind breaker
Perfect light jacket - used it constantly on my recent trip. Fit just right and stuffs into a pocket
Lightweight, packable, love it
I bought this jacket at such a great sale price that I was skeptical and ordered the Patagonia Houdini at the same time for 3x the price, but it turns out I like this one better. It's probably a smidge heavier but the hand pockets and ability to pack it into its own waist pack make it the winner for me. And? I even like the look better. IMO it runs slightly large, meaning that I can wear it over a puffer vest without sizing up.
