Made in China

I returned them. When possible, I avoid buying Chinese-made products for many reasons, quality control being a big one. One star is probably being too generous, but I'll give the product that much benefit of the doubt.

Best shoe possible for serious sailors

I have tried many boat shoes over the years for sailing. I used to wear Sperry's back when they were good, however they no longer make good sailing shoes that will last more than 2 weeks in the caribbean sun. I bought these a year ago and used them all over the world ranging from racing on large schooners to fast cats. The grip is excellent and never wears down. The fact that they are light weight, drain very well, are super comfortable, and look fantastic are added bonuses. If you're serious about sailing, whether for day sails, inshore racing, offshore racing, superyacht sailing, and everything in between, these are the shoe to get. I will never get any other type of sailing shoe from here on out. 10/10

Bought these for flat water paddle boarding and love them!

These shoes are awesome for paddle boarding. They are nice and light, are really comfortable, have good traction, don’t absorb much water and dry out quickly. All the things I was looking for in a water shoe!

Boat shoe design that works everywhere

This shoe has the classic adidas look, navy with white stripes. It's a wider fit than many other adidas shoes, which is a nice change of pace from the narrower styles. It's comfortable to wear without socks, which is how it was intended to be worn, but socks work also so you can get by taking it anywhere. It's easy to miss, this model has water vents on the sole. I would have preferred a solid sole because if you step in water (or anything else) it's going to end up on the liner under your foot. I guess it makes these true boating shoes, but an option to plug the vents would have been better. Overall, a comfortable casual shoe.

Boat shoes that bite

Such a smart start with feather-weight design and holes in the bottom for water to drain out but the good features are sabotaged by a really glaring design flaw—the tongue of the shoe. Boat shoes by their very nature will often be worn without socks, at least I don’t want wet socks inside my already wet shoes. With that in mind, the tongue of the shoe should be a single smooth piece of fabric so it doesn’t rub against the top of your foot any more than it has to. However, with these shoes the tongue is a multiple piece assemblage of fabric pieces, stitching and fused synthetic mesh that feels like the rough side of Velcro on the inside of the tongue rubbing against the top of your foot. I wanted these to work but they just can’t because whoever designed them never put them to the test, barefoot and wet.

These are not water shoes

I used these shoes for walking/hiking/spelunking/swimming and wading in shallow to deep water. I would advise the following: Do not wear these shoes without socks (especially damp or wet) as they will chafe your feet badly; do not expose these sneakers to any sort of sand or dirt as they will get caught in the drainage holes and into your sneakers; these shoes are not quick dry and take hours to dry; you cannot take these shoes into deep water as they are heavy and hard to swim with. These shoes are really meant to wear when you expect a little water exposure. I would return these shoes if I could.

excellent.

I purchased these shoes for boating, canoeing and wading. They are comfortable, durable and perform well. I have come to just wear them all the time. They are a great warm weather cycling shoe in the rain. Adidas makes a solid shoe. I have always thought so. Sand will tear up your feet in these so I usually employ a light wool sock, or NSR HydroSkin socks in the spring or fall. I am probably going to purchase a back up pair at the sale price. This is my second season in these shoes and they are still going strong. I am the captain of a PaddlePub and these shoes were great for commuting to the slip by bike, being on my feet all day on the pontoon, and being fashionable at the bar after work.

Best boat/dock shoe ever.

These shoes are amazing. I’ve had these for almost a year they do not leave black marks on the deck. I’ve welded in these … not the smartest thing to do but they did hold up. Water drains out immediately. Truly if I could wear these everywhere I would.

Great for irrigating!

These drain great and have helped my feet when I'm irrigating all day and my feet stay soaked. Only had one issue the rubber sole ripped in the front but am still wearing them daily. #threestripesoldier
