Best little backpack!

I was iffy at best about getting this backpack, but my pack I had been using broke the waist band so I wanted something new. Other bag was quite a bit heavier so I was suspicious about this being any good. However, I went on a 9.5 mile hike with this as a trial and was so impressed. It was light enough I never got tired of wearing it. I had four bottles of water inside, plus a light coat, hat, first aid supplies and food. It all fit extremely well and didn’t feel bogged down. I never felt wear on my body, and it was like it wasn’t even there. I have a problem with bags hurting my back, but that never happened with this one. I went from being concerned to being thrilled I had purchased this, it was definitely the right move. I will be taking this on all my hiking trips!

Wanted to love it, sadly did not

I‘m a pretty committed day hiker and bought this pack as a much needed upgrade. I’ve always heard the hype about Osprey bags so I decided to splurge on this one. I was extremely disappointed by the functionality of this bag. The pockets weren’t very practical for hiking and having to repack my bag every time I got something out was very annoying. I will say it was one of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever worn, but I couldn’t get past the lack of functionality. Ended up returning after one trip.

Great day pack!

I love this pack for day hiking & biking! It worked great in Acadia National Park when I hiked mountains that required food, map, medication/first aid, pullover, and two 24 ml water bottles. I also carried drawing & weaving stuff that I used along the shores of Acadia and appreciated the waterproof construction. I like having water bottles in outside bottom pockets but know that you can't reach them with the pack on due to it being a smaller pack. The material of construction is all high quality and seems to be the same quality as larger packs. The number of compartments (2 large compartments w/multiple pockets) worked well in organizing my stuff. I look for the straps to hold up well over time. The zippers are of high quality as well. There are a few extra pockets & straps with hooks. Like all Osprey packs, it is built with good ergonomic structure to keep the weight from pulling downward. I had wished that the belt was padded a bit like the shoulder straps but that didn't end up making a difference in comfort. The waste strap was fine. I liked the additional chest strap. I struggle with low back pain and had no issues caused by the pack. It was fully comfortable & functioned well. For those of you who like prints & unique colors, I purchased the Magnolia Print in Jubilee Blue. The blue is kind of a slate muted blue. It's pretty & fun! They had other colors & prints I considered too. If you backpack alone, this pack is not large enough for overnight trips. I also think it's not quite large enough for today's high school/college students who carry at least 3 books, notebooks, computer, & backpack. It may be fine for elementary students if their 3-ring binder fits.

10/10 Backpack

I purchased this pack two years ago with the intention of using it as an occasional daypack. I have ended up using it heavily every single day. From school, to work, to climbing and hiking, this backpack has shown very little sign of wear and tear as well has having plenty of space for everything I need with me. The mesh pockets on either side can fit both a waterbottle and the wrappers of numerous granola bars, and the front zip pocket is the perfect size for all the small things that usually disappear in my bag. The bladder pocket is where I put my laptop and it fits great, with additional room for a thin book. I never find myself reviewing products, but this pack is just good enough for me to make an exception.

A bit small, but we'll made

Osprey is a quality company and so I was confident their backpack would be good. I bought both the Osprey Daylight and the Osprey Daylight Plus. I really wished the Daylight Plus worked as I preferred the size of it. But, as other reviews mention, the way the straps form a handle at the neck caused rubbing and friction. So I returned the Daylight Plus and kept the Daylight. The Daylight doesn't rub against my neck but it IS a little small. I can put my packable hammock, my nalgene, a sweatshirt, and a book inside. That's about it. I feel like I'm constantly stuffing my things in it. But overall, it's just what I needed.

Great travel personal item bag

I bought this pack because I could strap it into my Osprey Farpoint 40L travel luggage backpack to carry it in the airport and to hotels, and then use it as a personal item on the plane and as a day pack on a recent trip to Ireland. It worked very well for my purposes, and the combination of these two packs allowed for going through the airport with both hands free. There is another Osprey bag that is paired with larger Farpoint series packs, but this worked perfectly fine used with the Farpoint 40. It is the perfect size for an airline personal item as well. I like the fact that there is structure to the pack, which made it more comfortable to carry than a collapsible day pack.

Backed up with an excellent back pack

Perfect size for day hiking. Many compartments to discover. Many straps, I guess for securing while biking or running- some of which I don't know how to apply, but I can attach a small tripod to bottom. Its construction and material is obviously durable. Got it on sale as well! Will check on other Osprey products. Note: Livied out of back packs traveling through Europe etc.

Fits great.

Was looking for a small pack to do some weighted walking for osteoporosis. When I put on the Osprey, it fit really well. It's not the one shown above, it had a wildflower print. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted something that girly, but when I tried the other daylites, and an Arcane (which is an elegant design but no waist belt), none of them were as comfortable. I've worn it several times, and has been great, and I'm really beginning to like the daisies.

Good bag, unfortunate cut straps

Overall good for every day activities like walking to the park. I like everything except the cut of the shoulder straps. I’m athletic built with fairly broad shoulders for a woman but the straps are still set too wide/ not curved in enough for me and chafe at my arm pits, I was hoping with it being a pretty small bag that this wouldn’t happen. Down side of a unisex backpack.

Great Day Pack

Needed a day pack for my recent trip. The Osprey was perfect! Enough room in the main compartment for glass cases, books, charging device, etc. The smaller front pocket had a couple of slots for my phone or wallet which made organizing easier. Love the shoulder straps with the chest strap too. Helped with distributing the weight of the pack. The fabric is durable and the zipper ties easy to grasp and open or close. Wonderful!
