This is a great cooler
This is a great cooler. It has some tough competition from the likes of Kong and Rovr - who both provide a lot of accessories and options. It seems Yeti could do a little work on that front. Many coolers of this type come with attached bottle openers, dry racks, maybe even a divider. Yeti doesn't even make a dry goods rack for this cooler. Seems like quite the oversight for a company that prides itself of little knick knack sales (tumblers, hats, bottle openers, t-shirts etc). Kind of an odd oversight. However, I was able to find some .97¢ Sterilite 6 qt. and 8 qt. plastic bins that will work as dry goods containers. They say they're 14" long but they aren't - they're 13.5" and they fit perfectly. The cooler doesn't close properly when the plastic bins have the lids on them (the 8qt doesn't come with a lid). The cooler will hold 2 x 6qts or the 8qt and 1x6qt. Or just one of each if that's how you want to pack it. The 8qt will make a perfectly sized block of ice for the bottom. I was able to pick this up during the anniversary sale so that makes the price a little more palatable. Full price I'm not sure I'd give it the full 5 stars.
Love it
Been great every please we took it. Going upstairs A little bit of a pain still a lot easier than caring
Good product put price is high.
It’s not as big as you may think. And the wheels seem as though they will cause problems later
Yeti on wheels!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been waiting since day one for a Yeti w wheels! Ordered July 30th & received 3 days later! Weight distribution & balance are perfect! Superior quality you’ve come to expect from Yeti! Dressed her up w stickers! Good to go....Stoked!
No dry goods rack problem solved!!!
OK all the dry goods rack groupies gather around. Got my Yeti Tundra Haul yesterday. I to definitely need a dry goods rack. I already had a Tundra 50 with a rack. I took that rack and cut the corners off as shown in the picture. Took some automotive black touch up paint to keep the corners from rusting. Then laid the basket on the workbench and pulled on each side about 1/2 inch out and Wala!!! Fits perfect and is extremely sturdy. Just ordered another basket to replace the one I cut. As for the cooler it is awesome!. Extremely well-made. Will be using it on a four day adventure over Thanksgiving. Hope this helps. Now YETI on!!!
40 lobsters
After having a bad experience with a yeti competitor I bit the bullet and invested in the haul. It has been getting steady use at the beach all summer long and recently was put to the test for a Fourth of July lobster bake. I was able to easily fit 40 chick lobsters in this plus ice packs (chick lobsters are approximately 1.25 lb each). Without ice packs I probably could have gotten 45. The haul holds way more stuff than you would think just by looking at it. It performed as expected and kept them nice and cold and lively for a couple hour ride home. In addition to holding lobsters it is great for general use and long days at the beach. Yeti recommends sacrificing a bag of ice before you use it which is totally fine I throw in a couple of big blue reusable ice blocks and let it chill for 8 to 12 hours before I know I'm going to use it and when we load up for the beach trip we just dump ice in and it keeps everything snapping cold all day with almost no melting. If you prepare the cooler and get it cold before you need it there should be little to no water sloshing around in there to get any food items wet. The wheels are an absolute game changer and the biggest deciding factor in me buying this cooler because everyone I know that has a yeti complains about how heavy they are and inconvenient to bring to remote areas on foot. If it is packed to the gills it will probably require two people to get it out of the car but after that one person can easily roll it anywhere. yes it rolls on sand but it is not smooth, a full cooler is heavy and it will definitely sink in a little bit and that specific application may require a two-man pull but it is still significantly easier than a two-man carry. The wheels are much higher quality and heavier duty then they seem in the pictures online. They are a heavy-duty rubber and spin very smoothly, not like cheap plastic wheels that are all scratchy and barely spin. When we go to beaches that have sand bars at low tide we just roll the cooler out to the water and sit at the edge, with the cooler submerged a couple of inches. when you're done for the day just to spray it off with fresh water and let it dry and it is good to go. Finally, the cooler is perfectly designed for the addition of a bottle opener as the design incorporates an indentation on either side so if you put a bottle opener there it does not protrude out further than the regular size of the cooler. I have friends who have put them on the front flat side and inside the lid and they don't like it because it gets in the way. Yeti sells one but I found another one that is 316 marine grade stainless steel which is a little higher quality and will absolutely never rust (as long as you use 316 stainless steel screws as well). before adding mine I reached out to yeti and confirmed that this does not void the warranty. Once you get over the sticker shock of this beast and start using it you will know where your money went. The haul does it all.
So far so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My charcoal Tundra Haul arrived yesterday. It looks awesome. It didn’t come with a basket like the other models, but the basket in my Orion 65 cooler fits in the Hauler perfectly. It is a big cooler and if full would be pretty heavy to move in and out of a vehicle without a handle for a helper. I put an old belt there to help. I think if you want to take this to the beach you would be better off getting a beach cart. Those tires will do well on harder surfaces. All in all, I’m happy with the purchase.
Yeti Tundra Hauler
Tundra Hauler... Absolutely love it! Well built. Found aftermarket baskets & divider & all fit perfectly & functional.
Best cooler ever
This thing is a workhorse! I was so impressed by its ability to maintain a safe holding temperature for our food during a recent camping trip (with high temps in the 90s and minimal shade.) I kept a small thermometer inside to track the temperature and it never budged outside of the safe temperature zone. I pre-chilled it as the instructions recommend, and when the time came to empty it after we returned home, I was stunned to see how much unmelted ice was still there. On top of that, the reusable ice packs I’d put in the bottom to pre-chill it were still frozen four days later! The sturdy handle makes moving it a breeze — the only hard part is lifting it into your vehicle when it’s full! (Worth the extra effort, though — just make sure you have someone to help you lift it!)
Great product
I just recieved my cooler today and it was everything i expected great product and very nice color. Only thing i did not like was the fact that my cooler was scratched and dented from two different places. I will not be returning the cooler because i need it but the fact that the product is scratched and dented is not right because the coolers are expensive. I expected to recieve a cooler in mint condition with no scratches.
