Great for MTB!

I use this pack every weekend when we hit the trails MTB. The fit is designed to carry the weight so it’s balanced going down a single track and not shift around, which this is perfect and stays in place. There are so many compartments, it carries a full set of tools, pump, replacement tire, snacks for the family, two full size 1L nalgenes, and on the side I can load the stretchy pockets with smaller Gatorade bottles or the half sized nalgene. The photo shows for size reference a 1L nalgene so you can get idea of how spacious it is. Everything straps or locks into place and doesn’t flip out. The mesh back panel is a little rough but I always wear athletic/ jersey type shirts and it doesn’t bother those. It could make a cotton T pill though. But it’s designed to keep your back cool, which it does! I forgot to add that when I have the pack fully loaded, there’s still room to store another layer or a lightweight hoodie on top of the water bottles inside, wallet, sunscreen and a 2 person first aid kit. Road rash is thing on the trails lol! I love the grey/ teal color it matches my bike. I’m 5’5” 150 lbs, and am 32DD with 31”waist and 38” hips for reference and the pack is highly adjustable and I forget I’m wearing it on the trails.

Perfect size, great pockets, rough back

I purchased this backpack to use as a daypack for everyday use. I like how the pockets are well designed and placed convienently throughout the bag. The top pocket is small and lined (designed for sunglasses I think) and I use it for my phone for quick access. The main compartment is big enough for coats and extra layers, and the smaller compartment has enough space for my wallet, keys(there is a key loop built in), and more. Inside that pocket is a zippered pocket for more valuables and two other small pockets for organization. I can fit two waterbottles in the sides, and the hydration pack for longer trips. All of this I love and in some ways it is the perfect bag. The reason I am only giving this 3 stars is because the back of the bag, which rides against your back, is made of a mesh material and designed so that there is airflow between you and the bag. The material is rough enough that it causes my tshirts to pill from friction. The abrasion is bad enough that I have difficulty wearing the bag without fear of ruining my shirts unless I am wearing material like a raincoat. My second complaint is that since the bag is designed to be worn for biking, it fits strangely while standing straight. I felt like the strap was digging into my neck unless I was hunched in a biking position. I cut a small triangle out of the top of the strap to relieve that pressure and that issue was fixed. Now I am looking for ways to add a smooth material to the back so that my shirts are not ruined during use. I understand that the mesh is a design choice that prevents the bag from resting directly on your back. It is amazing to feel the airflow while walking on a hot day, but not amazing enough for me to sacrafice my clothes.

beautifully designed

Purchased at an authorized dealer, not online. I so far am really pleased with this, especially living in a wet region, I was determined to find a bag with an included rain cover. I've yet to be caught in a storm, but I am feeling more prepared as previously my last pack did not have one and that caused major issues. I find it easy to use for other things, like taking my dog on extended day hikes. I like my backpacks to be as ""do it all"" as possible, and so far I think this will work for my personal needs just fine. My only hope is that someday they make the women's specific version in a 20L capacity! (my 4 star rating is because I would have bought a larger one if available). I don't know quite why they don't but it would be nice, even though this one fits my needs as of right now.

Function over form does it again!

I got this for my girlfriend to take on day-trips hiking or to Disney. She loves that she can fit everything she needs in it, especially when she takes her dog, without it feeling too heavy or cumbersome on her shoulders. She also likes how it helps keep her cool in the Florida sun if she refrigerates the water the night before. Her only complaint was that "it's not as cute as [her old Disney bag]."

Great Pack, but must be ok with the frame

Love Osprey, and had high hopes for this. Perfect size, Great pockets. Only thing was the 'frame' was uncomfortable. In the end, that got me. Returned it.

Comfortable but overall very disappointed

I bought this pack for day trips while in Kauai, so I was needing something with great airflow and rain protection. I used it almost every day for 30 days. Packed to the max with not much. (I had wished this pack came in 20L for females.) The pack is comfortable on my back and gives great airflow. The upper shoulder strap adjustments are also great for getting the pack to have the best fit. The pack is ok for stuffing soft items, but everything else I had to un pack and re pack soooo many times to get things to fit right. I finally came up with a system of how everything had to be packed exactly to a T each day. Definitely time consuming. The bottom is narrower than the top which is a definite negative, also the front small zipper pocket only zips down on one side. When the larger main compartment is full, it basically also fills up that front zipper compartment, so I couldn't put much in there. While I love the mesh backing that keeps the pack off my back, it also has a major downside. The hard bowed framing that takes up half the space in the main compartment. I could never fit my water bladder inside. So I put my water bottles in the very tight side pockets. I could only use slim bottles. The tiny top zipper pocket for sunglasses or a cell phone also falls into the top of the main compartment filling up its space. The compartments on this pack are kind of pointless because when I fill one area up, there's is hardly any room in the other compartments. I had to make sure the lower area wasn't filled to much from side to side, otherwise my water bottles wouldn't fit in the side pockets. Another huge negative is the lower portion on the back of this pack has ruined all the shirts I wore. It rubbed on them causing serious wearing down of the fabrics and bad piling. I am contemplating sewing a better fabric over the bottom area that rubs, hoping that fixes the problem. Not sure if I should do that tho, or just get a new pack from another company.
