Short but works

This is a light little piece of gear that is easy to keep handy in case of sudden Winter. It is a good barrier from the air when it is chilly and biting, and fits easily under helmets. I like to tuck it under my goggles for complete skin coverage and the thin material lets this happen without hindering the goggles' job. My toque slides on and off of it easily without having to readjust when I can't decide if I am hot or cold. Unfortunately, this was a little shorter than I had expected which makes it tricky to keep tucked in place under my layers, and I have to adjust it now and then. Adjusting means having to take my gloves off and I would rather not have to think about re-packing myself when I am outside.

Simple but works well

Almost perfect. Nice and thin, but surprisingly warm. This feels and fits excellently under helmets. I've used it both under my skiing helmet and my work PPE, and it never gets in the way. Good neck coverage. The colour is very nice. Easy and light to pack away. It is quickly becoming a staple in my winter work gear. My one complaint is that it only really fits best in two positions--with the bottom of the opening just below your lips or under your chin. Trying to cover up your mouth makes the balaclava pinch/fold up on either side of your eyes and make openings for cold.

Solid clava choice

I mostly have used this thing for more blustery peaks in the ADKs, pulling this bad boy on with the Exos beanie over top. It fits under hats and helmets great, and has kept me nice and warm thus far. The merino blend prevents it from reeking on multi-day trips, which is always a perk. Fits comfortably and without any chaffing--the best pieces are the ones you forget you're wearing. Note: This clava is meant to cover your scalp, ears, chin, and neck--NOT your nose. Just a heads up. If you're looking for full-face cover, maybe consider one of the other clavas.

Winter comfort and safety

Late September and already morning commutes to work on the bike are chilly at higher elevations (Calgary, AB). This Lumen Balaclava keeps my neck, ears, and head warm (unfortunately I have little hair left for insulation) and is thin enough to fit under my bike helmut ... perfect technology!

Stays warm and dries quickly

I use this balaclava on extra windy snowshoe hikes where only wearing a neck gaiter won't cut it. As with any fabric you're breathing heavily into, it gets a little damp near the mouth, but dries out in no time once you have it off for a bit!

Simple and warm

Used this for forestry work this past winter in semi-northern Canada. Wore it down to -30C without much issue. Sometimes had to use a buff as well, as it doesn't cover enough of the neck. It's lightweight, and does the job.

I would buy this again

I use this product in the frigid backcountry temperatures and consider it a part of my cold-weather clothes to pack.

It works as intended

Great face cover for snowboarding and skiing. The material is soft and doesn't effect my skin. I recommend.

Thin and warm

Warm and thin enough to wear under my tactical helmet. Built very well .
