Expensive but worth it
When sitting on the floor in front of my trainer, it directs the air exactly where it needs to go for most effective cooling. I don’t know if I sweat less or evaporate more, but I’m much dryer after training with this fan than the table fan on a chair that I was using previously. A mode where the fan speed is linked to power output might be optimal for me since my heart rate lags my power output by quite a bit, but governing fan speed by heart rate is a reasonable proxy. The mode in which fan speed is governed by virtual speed makes for a realistic experience, but leaves me overheating on simulated climbs where a high power output doesn’t produce much speed.

Raised price by 50 dollars.
This is the same fan that has been out for years. No upgrades, no new model, nothing. Now 50 dollars more. Don't buy into this kind of behavior. This was already extremely overpriced for what it was, now the price is upped by 20 percent?? Nah

Winded

After wading through countless marketing driven “best fans for Peloton / stationary bikes” lists, which mainly suggested underpowered (tower fans, Dyson), unwieldy (huge & loud via Amazon), and overpriced options (Dyson), I finally found mention of the Wahoo Headwind. Scouring reviews hinted at the golden goose — a powerful & not-too-loud fan that can be controlled while on the bike. Can it be real? Yes, yes it can. And it delivers: focused, silky super high cfm wind, feels like you’re on a real bike coursing down a hill, sweat evaporating into nothingness, with intensity easily controlled via heart rate monitor or phone app (I use the latter). Hells yes. Fk all that other noise, this keeps you cool and focused on training at peak. Also not annoying sound levels, and takes up minimal space. It’s perfect. Maybe more perfect if it connected to the Apple Watch heart monitor, but in its field it stands far ahead of the competition.

Great fan for any indoor cycling setup!

Excellent addition to my indoor cycling gear. Fan has multiple adjustments and is especially good when set to sync with heart rate for those long climbs!

Now I'm in wind! Expensive but worth it.

I am an avid cyclist. I train indoors ALOT. In a normal week I indoor cycle from 100-150 miles. When I'm training for an event the mileage increases. I was using two fans and my ceiling fan but at times it felt like no air was moving. Finally I made this purchase. I know, $300 for a fan is CRAZY. Believe you me I know. But I had finally decided to give it a try and I am not disappointed in this posh purchase. This fan moves so much air in my room that on full blast it will shut my office door. I linked it to my HR strap and now I feel air moving/rushing past me and I feel cooler while cycling. This is a very expensive purchase and most cyclists will be fine with it. But it ultimately it solves an issue that many of us face, just at a high cost.

Just buy it

I only have this fan and it seems to be all I’ll need! I’m always cold in our house so I love that it doesn’t blast when you’re starting, it only really revs up when you need it. It also is somehow perfectly angled at my torso when I just set it on the floor. SO WORTH THE COST.

Good option for your pain cave

While expensive, the beauty of this fan is that it can be set to adjust its speed based on your smart trainer speed, your heart rate, or a manual setting from your phone (or on the trainer itself). I really like that I can get on my trainer and start riding and the fan comes on automagically. I also like that I can feel the "wind" as a ride fast, but then I can easily change the setting in the app to heart rate if I decide I need more cooling, say while on a climb. The design of the fan is also such that it provides a narrow column of air directed right where you aim it (i.e., at you on your bike). That air column provides nice coverage of you, yet won't blow stuff around that's nearby. The fan can be set to sit on the floor or on a desk and easily adjusted to send the airflow in the right direction. Note that if you have a handlebar mount for a tablet (for use during your smart trainer rides), the tablet could block the air from the fan somewhat if the fan is on the floor. (You can set the fan slightly to the side and direct it at an angle towards you if this is an issue however.) I actually kinda like that my iPad blocks some of the air on my face since it lessens drying out of my eyes. So why didn't I rate it five stars? Two things. The obvious one is the cost. $250 for a fan is a lot of dough. (I got mine on sale.) The other is that it can be a little noisy. Sometimes there's a resonance hum that really shouldn't be there. This is the second fan of this model that I had (long story), and both have/had the issue, though happily this one is less bad than the other. But this makes me think that there could be either a design or implementation flaw... One other minor negative point: the fan has a cheap plastic smell. It isn't a strong smell (I don't smell it in the airflow from the fan), and (other than the hum) the fan certainly seems sturdy enough. But if you're sensitive to plastic outgassing, you might want to consider this issue.

Headwind review

So I bought this fan on the recommendation of other friends. The fan puts out a good amount of air is and much quieter than my old box fan. Positioning it is a bit more difficult than my old fan that put out a high volume of air but was very noisy. I do like the app to adjust the fan speed but find I just have it on full speed since I am a large person who over heats quickly. If it gave a bit more airflow I would give it a 5 but I think that 90% of riders would love this fan.

Surprisingly good - feels like the natural outdoor

I bought thinking this is a big splurge but after I hooked it up I was actually laughing because if feels like the wind when your riding. Its not a linear type of wind hitting your face/body. It moves around and has some variability when it hits you. The fan itself is steady and spits out the air at a constant rate but this type of fan/belt makes the air move like it's outdoors. Best part of my entire wahoo set up!
