I love this design however the Velcro under the armpits for ventilation is very uncomfortable. The description of the jacket say zip-pits but instead it's several Velcro strips that are not as comfortable as a zipper. Additionally I have looked everywhere for a zip in liner as I want to take it skiing but I have yet to find a North Face warm liner that works with this jackets zipper size. I took it to a local retailer who was surprised that every North Face liner we tried would not work. I've looked on TNF site and can not find a liner for this specific jacket even though the description says zip liner compatible.
This product is great. I love the extra pockets inside to keep things safe and dry on rainy days. I am a wilderness mentor and the camo color is great for hiding and sneaking games! I also love to wear the jacket outside of work because of the colors and how I can wear layers underneath. I have another rain jacket by north face but it doesn't allow as much layering. I can see this being perfect on a warm rainy winter day as well with the proper layering underneath. I love how the zipper comes up so high so it keeps you perfectly dry even in downpours. I highly recommend this product!
I love in new york city so we get all 4 season. But this jacket made me love the winter time. Is so warm and comfy. Im so happy North Face brought these bad boy back to the new genereation.
I have the original version of this jacket and they are not the same. The updated version is shorter in length. In my mind that diminishes the usefulness of this jacket, especially in wet hiking and climbing conditions. Please, please, bring back the same one as before. It's the best parka I have ever owned!
An excellent ski jacket that is breathable and waterproof at a very good price considering the features.
I absolutely love the updated versions of TNF's Mountain Jacket! I had these in several colors from 20+ years ago, so I had to check out the 2018 version, and it did NOT disappoint! The misty rose color way is perfect for me, and the jacket itself is forever a classic. Don't miss out on an opportunity to pick one (or more!) of these bad boys up. LOVE The North Face!!!
I'm glad you guys are re making this solid piece of equipment, I got it back in 1996 and used it for decades climbing in the Venezuelan Andes, only three years ago I haven it to a friend because it was unable to keep me dry, but since it's was still functional I gave it to a friend who was needing it.... I am glad it is back! Long live the North face Mountain Jacket!
I’m a 90’s girl, and I love the remastered classic jacket. So retro and awesome! Lightweight, warm but cool. Pit zips plus velcro make underarms a but bulky, but that’s a minor complaint. I’m 5’8” 135 lbs and got the ladies L, nice and roomy. A little boxy as per the 90’s. Arctic blue is gorgeous. Can’t wait to try it on the hill and in the rain!
An excellent all around jacket I plan to wear daily and especially for travel. I am very happy North Facebook decided to bring this jacket back. It does run small as I ordered a Medium. It fit but left no room to layer sweaters . So I reordered an X large which fits me with room to spare. I normally order a medium and that usually fits well.
I am so happy that North face still makes this jacket. I had one in the '90s. And it got lost along the way and I was happy that I could still purchase the same color, style, and fit as I used to have. I just took it skiing and it worked out wonderfully. I highly recommend this jacket. You will have it for decades.
