Different fit than original Half Dome
I grabbed this helmet because the original Half Dome helmet fit me great, but these colors were prettier! The fit is a lot more different than the original on my head. I'd tighten the dial to fit my head, but as soon as I looked up, the helmet would pop off. This continued to happen no matter how much I adjusted the dial and straps, so I ended up returning it. The last thing I need while climbing is to adjust my helmet every 3 minutes! I exchanged it for the original Half Dome helmet in Small, and it's been perfect. Maybe I don't have a womanly shaped head? Haha. Try it on before you buy especially if you're coming from the original Half Dome helmet!
Very comfortable and adjustable! also a cute color

Don’t buy this helmet
Bought this helmet simply because of the price point. I tried it on in the store and it seemed like it would be okay. However, when I finally wore this helmet climbing I was incredibly irritated by the fit and spent two days constantly adjusting it and found it very uncomfortable. The other members of my climbing party had this helmet and the men’s version and all expressed dissatisfaction. I am so happy REI is letting me return this!!!!!!!!!
You Get What You Pay For
I bought this helmet about 2 years ago. It seemed to fit fine in the store, but it's pretty uncomfortable to climb around in all day. I have to tighten the head part and chin strap pretty tight to make sure it doesn't move around on me, but it gives me a head-ache. I inevitably spend the whole day tightening and loosening it trying to find the right fit, but to no avail. It got to the point where this was normal for me and I didn't realize other people's heads weren't hurting after a day of climbing and they weren't adjusting their helmets at every pitch. I tried my boyfriend's helmet on last night on a whim and couldn't believe how comfortable it was compared to this one. I'm looking for a replacement right now.
Terrible fit and loose tightening system
I've worn this helmet on dozens of outdoor rock climbing trips and have tried to get it to stay on my head countless times. Firstly, the plastic ring inside the helmet is very round, so it doesn't stay on the head very well. Then, I would tighten the helmet at the back to stay put around my head, but midway up the way, it would become loose again and slip backwards, exposing the top part of my head to potential rock fall. The only time I could make this helmet stay tight was when I wore it ice climbing and put it on on top of a beanie.
The perfect Crag helmet
Super light and easy to adjust. One thing I will note is that you need to have your hair in a low bun or in braids for it to sit correctly on your head. (I've been able to get away with french braids before.) If you have a larger forehead I'd recommend sizing up since the inner band and chin strap is adjustable to get that full frontal lobe coverage! I throw a hat under mine during sunny climbs!

Great Helmet
Bought this helmet for my wife and after a year of use she still thinks it was a good buy. Perfect for the price since she doesn't climb all the time. Fits her well, better than the standard Half Dome, and she said having the spot for her hair helps. Headlamp clips have come in handy a few times.
Decently okay
Slides back when you look up (sucks when you’re belaying!) but otherwise an okay introductory helmet. I like that you can fit a ponytail or a baseball cap under it pretty comfortably though

Always wear your helmet!
A standard helmet at a good price, perfect for my wife. It is lightweight, simple to adjust, and has a cut-out in the back for a pony-tail. A helmet that works at the price point I was looking for. All you get with a more expensive helmet is less weight.
Great Beginner Buy
My girlfriend bought this for herself a few weeks ago and has used it several times with no issues. She says it's comfy. Inexpensive and sturdy. Doesn't seem to fit too high on the head so I guess theres some side impact protection going on. It works with her pony tail (that's why she got woman's option). Fits her head fine with back adjuster (says S/M inside helmet) which can easily be sized with one hand due to convenient adjustment wheel.
