Had to replace my Keen Durants and literally tried every boot possible. I have narrow feet and high arches, and I needed a boot for 5-8 mile mountain winter hikes so it had to be comfortable. I bought and returned 10 different boots, all had flaws I could not get past. The last boot on my list was the Evo Ice, which I fully expected to return like the rest. Once I put it on, my prayers were answered. They are soft and comfortable, like a slipper, but supportive in and around the ankle. They are water proof, GTX breathable, and good traction too The outsole is one piece and solid enough to keep you from tiring your soles on long hikes. The ousoles are also very cushioned and not stiff and clunky. Its construction and comfort make it the best winter boot on the market, I will get another pair next year to have a back up when these get to many miles. I got them 1/2 price which was the ciing on the cake.
Was looking for a daily wear boot to take me from Colorado Mountains to windy Wisconsin winters and have some style. These fit the bill and have been comfortable at zero with -20 windchill while showshoeing. Not had the chance to test colder yet. The comfort is excellent but I did go up half a size as read they run a tad small and was glad I did. Highly recommended. I did change the laces to a sportier blue as the boots looked a bit like a police issue item but found out the lace eyelets are too small for stout laces or tips. I had to buy 3mm paracord to make my own tough laces.
I love this boot! It's early with the boot but it fits just right (I wore thick smart wool winter socks). The grip on the bottom works. The shoe is waterproof as heck and it's warm. I spent an hour in the snow ankle deep at 28 deg Fahrenheit with completely dry and warm feet. The only negative is that the shoe is not pretty but I bought it to function as an insulated snow boot.
I have purchased several pairs of the regular Lowa Renegrade in wide sizes but am disappointed that the GTX Evo Ice does not come in wide sizes.
Love the quality, and the feeling when I put them on.
