Comfy shoe but falling apart
I was so excited to find these on sale! I've been wearing Keen Sandals for years and they've always held up very well, but the last 2 pairs I've had have started falling apart rapidly. The stitching is coming out and the pull lace tension holder doesn't seem to hold very well any more. In my photos the older pair that are really falling apart are well worn, but didn't hold up as well as my previous pairs. I decided to give Keen sandals another try, hoping that I maybe just got a defective pair. I've only worn the new pair, the "Women's Newport H2" 10 times or so and they're falling apart already! I want to try another pair because I really like them, but I don't know, it kind of seems like I'd be throwing away my money. I live miles away from the nearest REI now so purchases are all online and returns are difficult. What's going on with the Keen manufacturing? I'm very disappointed.
Keen has lost quality
My first Keen sandals are so beat up after 3 years, some stitches falling apart. Last year my new Keens lasted about a month before the side straps came unglued from the sole, just as I was about to go on a 5 day kayaking trip. I’ve tried several glues, last Shoegoo. They were over a yr old as I bought them on sale for future use,and couldn’t find receipt. They looked like new. Keen wouldn’t replace them. I think they have to be aware that there is a problem with quality of their sandals. They are comfortable, good arch support and I use them for kayaking, hiking, biking. I’m hesitant to buy another pair until they correct their quality issues.
Terrible Shoes
I have worn Keens for a decade and this was a terrible pair. The lining pulled and showed holes from the first wear and the stitches unraveled with the first washing. I don't know if it was a change in fabric or manufacturing location but I wouldn't recommend this style/coloring to anyone.
all purpose summer footwear
My Keens are two years old. I recently washed them by hand, and they look like new. I cannot see any wear in them, although I have worn them a lot every summer. Recently I went on a trip. These are the shoes I wore in the airport, because they are easy to take off and put on. For the same reason, they double as bedroom slippers in the hotel. The only time I didn't wear them was to the wedding itself. I like them because they protect my toes and stay on my narrow heels. Also, they get a lot of admiration. I'm buying a second pair in case something happens to these, but right now they look strong. Wonderful summer footwear!
Great shoe!
I bought these shoes to wear when I am teaching outdoors in the spring and summer, especially when we are on the water. These are breathable, comfortable, don’t feel like they will blister my feet, and pretty cute for an athletic sandal. The sizing in athletic shoes and boots is often larger than my fashion size, so I went with a 9 (I’m an 8.5 in fashion shoes), and that was the right move. I’m likely to live in these this summer.
Unbelievably comfortable
I bought these as a necessity for a summer class I am taking (field study, island environment). I have foot problems so finding something comfortable is an issue. The large toe box on the Keens made these shoes comfortable from the moment I put them on. Heeding previous reviews, I sized up by a half and that was the right decision. I haven’t started my class yet but these sandals have walked all over the UK for 10 days and they are also my go to kayaking shoes as well. I have had 0 issue with my foot when wearing these which I am immensely grateful for as foot pain was slowing me down!
So comfortable
I love these Keen sandals. So comfortable and fun to wear. They are a nice fit and waterproof too. I recommend them to anyone looking for sandals that you can go to time after time.
Great support for every day walking
Great sandals (have Keen walkers)! Wanted toe protection that I don't have in my other 5 sandals & excellent support, which I got. Also love the color & simple bungee ankle adjustment. My new fav sandals for summer!
Very comfortable
I have been a fan of keen shoes for many years. Although my last pair of these sandals were a disaster. After one summer of wearing them the stitching came out of the ankle leather, the sole came completely off. So disappointed. A am still going to try another pair.
Great shoes
I have several pair of Keen and always find them great shoes. These don’t let me down. Since the back strap doesn’t have a Velcro closure like some of the others do they were a bit tight at first but loosened up after a few minuets.
