Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

After having mine for about 8 months I took a trip to Seattle. I spent about 30min in the rain, then came back inside, by which time the entire jacket was covered in water on the inside. This wasn't perspiration - I wasn't sweating, it was water than had been absorbed into the face fabric and then passed through the GoreTex membrane and was visibly wet on the entire inside surface. Fortunately REI has an excellent return policy and I returned the garment for a full refund.
Boughtthis coat a week ago for some rain coming in the next week. Within 2 hours of it raining the coat was soaked through and my shirt is soaking wet.
I was initially excited about this little shell but it's not durable enough for anything other than emergency rain use. I spent half a day skiing at Mt Bsldy, where the chairs are still wooden and after a few runs I had splinters coarsing through the material. The manager at the REI told me this was unusual wear and tear, and he may be right but others should know this jacket is not made of durable material and as such I wouldn't recommend it.
I'm just an average guy doing average things, going to work and trying to stay dry, occasional camper, and hiker but this jacket didn't make it passed going to work. I love to support the REI brand, this jacket fits great and looks even better. Unfortunately I will be returning it. Like many other review this jacket does not repel the rain but rather soaks into the material. Very unhappy with the quality since I spent extra on the Gore-Tex. REI dropped the ball on this one! I should have trusted the negative reviews I read prior to my purchase.
I purchased this jacket 2019 and loved it for the 13 months. After this though, the left pocket disintegrated and left me with a big hole. Instead of accepting a return or exchange for the failed product, I was asked to patch by my local REI store. The patch worked for about 6 months, after which the pocket lining below the patch also disintegrated and gave me a hole in the same side. Around the same time, the right hand pocket did the same thing. Now just about 2.5 years after purchasing this I have no pockets. The jacket was inexpensive though compared to other brand's rain jackets and did keep me very dry. I was quite happy with my purchase until the obvious flawed material. This jacket was only lightly used for small hiking trips and mostly for commuting in the rain.
This jacket isn't even close to waterproof. It's somewhat water repellant/resistant. Soaked through in less than half an hour of moderate rain. It was starting to come through even after just walking back and forth to my car a few times running errands. The kind of thing you'd use a super cheap rain jacket for. That aside, it's very lightweight and fairly comfortable. Sizing was very short. I ordered a 2xl after trying on XL in the store just to try to get it longer. That made it way too baggy and bulky though, so I ended up exchanging back to the XL and living with the short length. Until I return it for sucking as a rain jacket anyway. Back to my milsurp ECW.
This product failed to repel water. I had to return it. I do not belong to the super expensive clothing group. Nor do I believe that clothing is worth the new norm. REI did me right by allowing a speedy return.
The first time I wore this it started wetting out after about 5 minutes of heavy rain. The DWR was either defective or completely inadequate. My best guess is defective because some of the panels of fabric held up better than others. See the photo I took immediately after this happened. One section of fabric beaded up nicely while the other wetted out. Either way, there are probably more defective jackets out there so if you get this make sure to test it. I returned it immediately. The employee who helped me was very friendly and understanding.
This first time I used the jacket was in a pretty heavy rain, and within 5 minutes the jacket was completely wet on the inside as the water had gone straight through the two layers and I could feel most of the rain coming through. Also, when I was on the hike I brushed by a low tree limb that caught the sleeve and ripped through the first layer of the jacket with ease, I was very disappointed because it was something that happens on the trail often so, this definitely shook my confidence in the jacket. To add, the jacket is not very breathable at all even with vents in the pockets. TLDR; The jacket is not very waterproof and can get ripped/damaged pretty easily, and has a lack of good ventilation.
My last GorTex jacket lasted more than 20 years, and was always dry as a bone. With light use and 2 years, this jacket is now wet on the inside with light rain. Honestly I didn't expect that out of something with GorTex.
