Sizing chart appears to be incorrect
My 10-year-old daughter's bottom-of-palm to third-finger length is 5 7/8". So, following the size chart (XL = 5.75 to 6.25), I ordered the XL. (It didn't make sense that she would be "XL" because 6" is about medium on most kids' gloves as, in the U.S., the average size of an 11-year-old's hand is 5.6" to 7"; but I trusted the REI size chart.) When the gloves arrived, the gloves appeared to have at least 3/4" in extra space, i.e., at least 1/2" longer than the size chart says. I see that REI doesn't recover return shipping, so now I need to visit a store to return. Everything else about the gloves looked good.
Misleading Size chart
The gloves seem like good quality, however I am returning them (and paying for it) because I followed the REI size chart and the gloves were way too big for my son. The size chart is misleading so be aware. Wish we had a chance to test them out.
Perfect for the slopes
I originally bought them for me because I have small hands. My daughter ended up taking them because they fit nicely over her wrist guards when she snowboards. The zippered slot for hand warmers were perfect to store her lift-ticket card as she passed through the gate.
Falling apart after a year of minimal use
These lasted 3 days on the playground before falling apart. Each little seam on the fingers are opening up. I am of course past the year return period. The gloves should have lasted longer and if it hadn't been for a weird 2020 we probably would have figured this out. Too late now. Probably won't buy REI brand gloves again, not when the cheap ones from Target last longer!
Terrible gloves
Barely used, but there is a small tear in the glove already. The worse part is they are not waterproof in anyway. We have had 2 decent snowfalls this season and both times, these gloves have been completely soaked. I'm so disappointed in these gloves as I expected better quality.
Great for my kids!
I picked up a pair of these gloves for my kids in advance of the advancing snowstorm and could be happier. Great seal and kept his hands warm for hours!
Tough enough for boys
Had these thru two winters for two boys and they lasted a long time, no tearing, and waterproof did well.
