REI Co-op  Essential Rain Pants - Men's Short Sizes

Bought these, “just in case” for a 10 day trip in Iceland. I wore them on 7 of the 10 days. We encountered rain and snow, but with these over a pair of soft-shell pants I was able to do all the hiking to the glaciers, waterfalls, whale watching and the lava caves. They are listed as short, but were ideal in that they did not bunch up around my ankles but extended over the tops of my boots. I have a 31” inseam, as a point of reference.

Bought this pair b/c I didn't feel like spending $100+ on something I'm going to wear half a dozen times a year. Bought the M Short as a Male 165 pounds and 5'8". They were super bulky although the length was perfect. (I have a big butt and legs). Changed for a Small Short and they fit perfectly with room to spare for a base layer and hiking pants. Highly recommended.

Waterproof based on home hose testing as well as trail use in an hours long downpour. Small-short fit me perfectly (30"waist, 30"inseam) but was too form fitted to allow me to put them on with my heavy large boots on. So I got a medium-short which allows me to keep my boots on. The waist is fine if I cinch the draw string tightly. This is a good low cost, waterproof pant.

Bought medium short, fit me perfect, 5'6", 140lbs,33" waist. Very lightweigt, leaves enough room for base and middle layer clothing. Front right zippered pocket is reasanable capacity, and I have pockets on my jacket anyway.Tested with garden hose, water just rolled off and fabric remained completely dry. Very happy with the price and quality. Will give followup after I use it on my Antarctica trip soon.

Highly recommend. If you do not own rain pants this pair is a great place to start. I bought these with the REI Co-op Men's Rainier Rain Jacket to be able to hike Spring-Fall without being hampered by rain. The pants are extremely light weight, roll up well, and fit in my 20L backpack with room to spare. Having rain pants on-hand gives me confidence to do what I want to do while I'm outside and not have to plan around the possibility of weather. When I wear the rain jacket, rain pants, and waterproof hiking boots I feel invincible. These rain pants are perfect for cooler-weather watersports, such as kayaking (if you're cheap like me and don't own a kayak skirt, lol). I'm a 5'6" dude and these pants are humungous on me. The ankle velcro flaps do cinch snugly on my ankle-high hiking boots. In summation I am grateful to own these pants. Wet clothes can be a nightmare outdoors but these come in real handy. Purchase these pants and walk among gods.

My husband is 5'2. He was very happy to finally find rain pants in short sizes! Over the weekend, the S.F. Bay Area was hit by a Category 5 atmospheric river. My husband was outside for hours doing "flood control". His inner pants never got wet and his REI Co-op Essential Rain Pants dried in a few hours. Highly recommended!

I am as average as they come, 34 x 31. Needed rain pants and the local REI only had one pair of LG "Short" size left. Was worried about them being flooded, but turned out a perfect fit for my size and inseam. Light weight and kept me dry in a steady rain!

These pants fit great! They run true to size. And the price of them is a good value for what you get. I would definitely recommend them.

Unfortunately, we will be returning these pants. They look perfect, except they run really large. The description said they would fit a man's 32, but these might work with a 38 or larger.

Bought these to complete a waterproof outfit for when I need to make adjustments to the irrigation system. Good fit and range of motion for running around the yard and crouching down to make adjustments to the sprinkler nozzles. Stretches enough to fit over the top cuff of my high waterproof yard work boots and down to around the ankle region. These pants dry pretty quickly, as they don't absorb any water.
