The best lightweight insulated jacket!
I love the wine color of this jacket. It’s a “fitted” style-very flattering But take that into account when picking your size. I generally wear a medium but purchased a large in this one because it’s fitted and I wanted to be able to wear a sweater underneath it comfortably. The sleeves are nice and long. I’m 5’10, 155 lbs and it fits me perfectly. It’s super warm and cozy and the chest pocket is a nice size and convenient stash spot for your phone. Large side pockets zip up for added security for your keys. This jacket is really soft and really warm but it packs down really small for your backpack on a hike trip. I bought it mostly for hiking and outdoor fun but I find myself wearing it around town too! I would compare it to the Patagonia nano puff in terms of fit and weight but personally I like this one much better!

Not Truly Insulated
I'm still trying to figure out if I like this jacket or if I just bought it because of the label. Overall fit is nice, sleeves are abnormally long and looks lumpy at my wrists. I like the deep, hand-warming pockets and the material is super soft and buttery but man oh man it is not a warm jacket whatsoever. I run warm constantly plus you can normally find me wearing a wool base layer for comfort and I could feel cold moments trickle through my shoulders and back at times, even on a mild hike I was never too warm but got whispers of cold. As many also say, the zipper quality does not meet expectations based on the premium price I'm paying for this luxury brand. Very much considering returning and replacing for a true insulated everyday that I am happy with. Purchased a Small.

Gorgeous Color

Can’t speak to the tech of this jacket yet. I’ve worn in dry, 50 degree plus weather in Glacier NP so I haven’t really put it to the test. I usually wear Patagonia or North Face and know and trust how they perform, but when I saw the green color of this jacket in the store I fell in love! For me it fits true to size, even zipped over a sweater (although a slim fit) and I love love love the longer length on the arms! I do agree with other reviewers that the zipper is a bit temperamental. Overall, soft fabric and gorgeous color. 5’5, 34c/32d and 145. Size medium fit well. I did consider sizing up for layering, but it was too large.

Skinny neck

I wanted to love this jacket-the mountain blue color is a beautiful deep jewel tone dark blue aqua, the fabric is so soft to the touch, flattering cut for a curvy girl, and hood was nicely fitted. Unfortunately when zipped all the way up the neck is way too tight. Slightly uncomfortable and odd looking for normal wear but there's no way you could wear it with a fleece buff comfortably in cold weather without feeling like you were getting choked. This is my third jacket of theirs and second time running into this issue with this brand - the fleece hiking jacket of theirs that I own has the same problem. I don't have an unusually large neck BTW...

Good, but...

The jacket is warm, lightweight, has normal adult-size pockets in good locations (a rare find for women!), has a great fitting hood, and meets my narrow criteria of synthetic mid layer that also works for everyday casual wear. I have two complaints about this piece. One is that if you sweat even a little, the lovely wicking nature of the fabric will create absolutely disgusting pit stains that are readily visible from the outside of the jacket and require frequent washing to remove. I unfortunately snagged one of the sleeves badly and had to patch it before I could exchange the red color for black to address this. The other is that the bottom of the zipper wears out quickly making closure more fiddly.

Arm with pliers for zipper

Great look & fit. Light weight and warm on a chilly So CA night (upper 40s-50s) on its own & zipped up; regulates tempt well. Only and known problem is the dbl zipper. Zipping up takes a little practice and patience to get the correct alignment on the bottom to click and zip (had to youtube it to learn how to properly use a dbl zipper). The zipper got stuck on the bottom, and wouldn’t unzip..tried for 15mins, took it off like a sweater, went back to REI, and 2 people tried as well, but had to use pliers to unzip the it. I did exchange it for the same exact jacket, that zipped and unzipped slightly better, but BEWARE of the zipper issue.

Bad zippers "(

I really liked this jacket and the colors, although the armholes are tight for the size (if you should want to wear more layers underneath) .. but, I will need to return .. I LOVED that it offers a rare 2-way zipper, but the zipper on every jacket I tried was very difficult to get started and to release .. knowing how many times per winter day that I would be wearing it, I have decided that life is too short to have to fight a poorly operating zipper .. would have just replaced the zipper myself, but for the $$$, I will keep searching for a better jacket.

great everyday go anywhere jacket!

I'm not a blue gal, but I caved and went for it. It's now my latest favorite go-to everyday jacket. I wear this guy in all temperatures; keeps me warm with just a tee under it, but also great for layering in the cooler temps too. It's not intended to be a winter jacket, but I've worn it as my everyday jacket in Wisconsin; both doing a hike in 20º weather, and just boppin' around town. It wouldn't be my go-to if I needed to be super warm, but for it being called an "insulated hoodie" I think it fits that description very well. Great deep pockets, and an interior pocket. Sleeves are definitely a little long but not obnoxious; plus I like them a little longer. I've got an athletic build with wider shoulders and the M fits me perfectly.

You get what you pay for

While a high priced item, it does have features that make it worth the price tag. The fabric is buttery soft and not loud and "swooshy" like a sleeping bag. Pockets are deep. Sleeves are long enough for tall people. The hood can be cinched snug but is not restrictive like a Batman costume. Easily fit under my rain shell jacket of a different brand, and the two of these together kept me warm in 40 degree weather. The medium is a good fit for my 5'10", 170lb pear-shaped frame though the bottom hem rode up a little because of my wide hips.

Perfect jacket

I went back and forth on actually purchasing this jacket. Things I was concerned about was not being waterproof, being too thin and not warm enough and being puffy and not form fitting. This jacket proved me wrong on all accounts. While not being waterproof I shoveled our driveway of snow and didn't realize I was even wet until I took it off, and it dried very quickly. It is form fitting but not too snug. I ordered a large to have some room to wear a sweatshirt underneath and normally wear a large for extra space. It's wonderfully warm on it's own and with an added layer for the snow it has taken place of my snow jacket. Highly recommend for a stylish everyday wear jacket to dress up or down, I already hace received several compliments. Worth the cost for great engineering, Swedes knew what they were doing.
