Love these gloves and got them on sale for $12 or close. In pics provided temps were at 18 in early morning and 32 during day. gloves were perfectly fine although I run hotter than most. Durable to gather wood with and any other task I can personally think of while backpacking. In my pic is also a the regular REI fleece I got at $25 over 5yrs ago and still going strong to this day!!! Pack is last model Flash 65 which I've used regularly with 50lbs or more comfortably for over 10 miles. Rare occasion at 65lbs but don't recommend at that weight for far LOL.
Bought these for cold weather biking. On the positive side, they are well made, and fit very well. I have very large hands and often have difficulty finding gloves that fit, and these do. They are not biking gloves per se, but seemed to be good for cold weather, with polartec fabric etc. They are very flexible and great for shifting gears, braking etc. I have used them for a ride when it was 45 and pretty breezy and they were good, not great. My hands were somewhat cold, but it was manageable. The person I was riding with could not continue due to being so cold with regular wool gloves. I am not sure these would work in the 20-30 range but ok for normally cool weather.
I have been using these 200 weight fleece gloves or similar for years when backcountry skiing and buy them when they are on sale. After about a year and a half, the fleece starts to wear out. Every few years, REI changes the design of the palm patch. Some years the palm patch is better designed than others. REI should figure out the wear pattern and finally come up with a palm patch that works.
I hesitate to rate this item very high as the first pair of gloves that I purchased in May had to be returned because the seam on the outside of the thumb came apart. I had only worn them 3 times when this happened. I had to return them and got a replacement. Will have to see if they are more durable than the first pair. I really like the feel of these gloves and they are very comfortable, but if they are not durable, I cannot give them a higher rating at this time.
Light, warm gloves. These are good for temps around 20 ish degrees on the lower end. They are not wind or water resistant, but dry quickly. I'm usually between a "men's" medium and large, in this case the large fits better. Make sure to check the stitching, I saw two pair that had small holes in them, in the area at the base of the thumb.
It’s tough to find the perfect weight for winter gloves. These are good if you’re looking for truly cold weather. They are probably a little thick if you’re looking for walking in a parking lot or warming up the car in the winter. But well made and warm.
I purchased these gloves during a 50% off sale, for the price I am satisfied with their construction, fit and feel. The touch screen fingertips work well. Overall, for the price, I feel they are great.
These gloves work well for a lightweight, cold weather hiking glove. They’re fairly warm and are easy to get on and off if you’re hands tend to overheat. I think the price was a bit high for a fleece glove and I was disappointed that the REI product tag created a hole in the glove cuff where the nylon pin attaches.
These gloves are really nice. They are soft and the technology finger pads really work (just make sure your finders are all the way to the tips). They also stay pretty warm when wet. The reason I gave a 4/5 is because if the temp falls below ~28’f, you need liners. My liners fit in them really well though.
I needed some gloves that would hold up for a trip to Zion in the winter. These served that purpose and then some. I love the little clip on the wrists because everything that comes in a pair, I'm bound to lose one of them, thanks to that little clip I still have both gloves.
