The Best
I've worn this for skiing at the Snoqualmie Summit. I bought size S. I'm shy of 5', wt 102 lbs, waist 26/27, length 27/28. The pants fit over my ski boots just fine. When I have my snow boots, it's a bit long so I just roll up a 1/2" and keeps the bottom clean. This is the 2nd time I've bought the Freedom pant; XS (97 lbs) & S (102 lbs). This one had the inner-thigh vents that are much better for moisture than the 1st with the outter-thigh vents. I'll still keep it for my walks. I love all the features and the quality of this pant. The Best!
all day flex
Pretty light weight but you don't lose anything in the way of warmth. best part is how flexible they are for all riding styles. can easily be worn all day and for apres
Sizing
I agree with the other reviews. I tried on a small in the store and they fit perfectly everywhere but the bum. So, I ordered a medium online. There is a big difference between the small and medium. I’ll keep mine because they fit better than what I currently have (from 12 years ago) and I got a good deal on them. But, if you are looking for the “just right” fit either try them on in the store or (if you can) order two sizes and return one.
Not the best
It runs small. I suggest to size 1 up. The material is a bit stiff and feels plasticky. Don’t really like the style, the bottom part is a bit flare. However, it keeps me warm at 20 - 30 F condition I wanted to love it but I returned it.
Fashion meets function
I am 5'4 and 110lbs. I ordered size XS and I can zip and button them, but I have to wear my thin long johns underneath. They are snug in the waist but I was afraid if I went up a size they'd be too big. After walking around in them a bit they felt more comfortable so I decided I could make them work. If I gain any weight I'll buy them in the next size up. I was looking for a ski pant that would not look too baggy or allow cold air in, and these are nicely fitted. I love that they have vents for spring skiing and seem to be quite waterproof. I also plan to use them next winter to play outside with my kids.
Definitely small
According to the sizing chart, I am firmly a M. However, after receiving these pants, I found they were far too tight in the butt and thighs for any kind of activity. I intended to use them mostly for snowmobile riding but I would not have been able to sit comfortably or even swing my leg over easily in these. I'm hoping a L will fit better in those areas, since they fit fine in the waist and legs. I really like the mesh in the thigh zippered vent and think the ankle elastic will be great for boots in the snow.
Great ski pant
I needed new ski pants and got these just in time for our final skiing of the season. We were in Colorado for spring break, it was really warm and I was happy to have ski pants with the venting! These worked out really well, they're comfortable and I'm happy with the zippered pockets. I'm in between a small and medium so I went with with the medium, and it's a comfortable fit for tucking layers in. I like that these are available in the short length which works great for me (I'm 5'2"). Overall I'm really happy with these and can't wait to ski in them again next winter!
Do Not Like the Fit
I bought this waterproof DryVent snow pants to compare with the more expensive, Gortex Anonym pants, and decided to return the DrYVent pants. First reason is the fit. While the waist/hip area is fitted, the leg area, especially the flared bottom , is too wide/large, making it clumsy to move around. The Anonym pants are more slim fit and flattering looking, and still feel comfortably loose. Second reason is the much better quality of Gortex material, which looks and feels more cloth like (less stiff plastic like). If you do not do snow activities much and/or prefer a more budget friendly pair of snow pants, go for these. I opt to keep the Anonym for the quality feel and flattering look, although I only need snow pants for expedition travel.
Awesome Snow Pants!
Snow Pants that fit, feel and look AWeSoMe!!!! I'm 5'3 and 114 pounds. The size medium/short fit perfectly for skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. As spring blooms here in Wisconsin I've also been wearing these snow pants on hikes in the cold rain and they make being outside truly comfortable. I hike with a class of toddlers every morning at school where I teach. During our slow moving nature adventures these snow pants are warm and waterproof whether we're making snow angels or tromping joyously down a rainy path!
good pants, run small
Haven't used them much yet but so far seem great. Comfortable and warm but definitely run small. order a size up even if you're not planning on wearing anything under them
