Terrible valve head design
Nice looking pump. Mostly steel. Nice big top mounted gauge and a long hose. The pump handle is hollow plastic. It's held up so far, but it does feel a bit flimsy. I half expect it to snap while pumping up a high pressure road bike tire. The head/chuck design is awful. You have to push the head DOWN on the valve while pulling UP on the locking lever. There is nothing on the head to hold on to while doing this. This is also likely the reason that many reviews mention the slow responding gauge. It's not the gauge, it's that the head is not pushed far enough down on the valve (particularly a presta valve) to open the valve correctly. So the gauge is displaying the drop in pressure as the air slowly leaks around the not-fully-open valve. If you get the head pushed far enough down on the valve, the gauge responds quickly. But, as mentioned, getting the head down far enough while pulling up on the locking lever is extremely difficult!
great pump, awful valve head
Due to the poorly designed valve head this beautiful, powerful, solid and rather expensive pump is next to useless when it comes to pumping a tire. On the positive side, it’s quite pretty as a garage decoration, handy as a duster for small crevices and it provides good workout for the triceps. It most definitely is excellent at testing one’s patience when a bike needs to be pumped n a hurry.
Nice pump
As long as you don't mind a guage takes about 15-30 seconds to settle after each stroke.
